Was killed last Saturday.. Taken to the butcher that day and got him back today.. Had some tenderloins for dinner and man the meat was excellent... Kinda sweet and melt in my mouth. See that belly on him? It was so full of acorns im surprised he could even walk. lol Think ill throw some steaks on the grill tomorow :winkwink:

Good shit. I'm heading out on Dec. 9th - 14th to shoot me some hogs. Personally I don't like the taste of Deer (way too gamey and stringy for my taste) so I won't hunt them. I'll only hunt what I'll eat like turkey, ducks, and hogs.

Looks like you had a great time and congrats on the kill. I may have overlooked it but did you use a gun or bow to bring it down?

be a man, if you can run it down, and take the deer out with your bare hands, and nothing more... you can eat it.

You have to know how to cook it. I could eat deer meat every day and not be tired of it.

Guns I have for home protection so I don't add that to the cost of the hunt. Camouflage, my father is ex-military so that's free. Travel, I live in Florida where hunting spots are available 10 minutes North, South, or East. I don't use noisemakers, scents, or any of that other shit.

So basically the only cost other than ammo is my time. I enjoy hunting because to me it's like camping with a purpose. I'll go out with my buddies and spend the weekend out in the woods and drink and laugh and have a good time. Even if we don't bag anything it's still fun.

A chick I knew years ago always put down my hunting weekends with buddies, sayin' it was cruelty to animals. Despite all the facts I tried to enlighten her with...she wouldn't listen to reason.

I caught her ordering a veal sandwich one time in a fastfood restaurant. I asked her if she had any clue where veal comes from. She admitted she didn't.

I never heard another protest from her about my hunting after I told her all about veal farms.

They are getting ready to allow bow hunting in my subdivision. Lots of wrecked cars, injured and starving deer because of over population. The tree huggers were in reality causing deer to suffer when they passed strict hunting laws. :(
