You need to compete at auction for them with the main services that backorder successfully. He mentions 4 I think. Those are likely; snapnames.com, pool.com, enom.com, namewinner.com or godaddy.com. That means if the domain " mymomisdrunk.com " is dropping and you want it, you would try to cover your bases by backordering it at those 4 services. When one of them successfully catches your domain name, then you begin the fun process of bidding against others who want the name too. If it has traffic, you will spend significantly more for the name. The value of the service depends on whether you have access to a list of good names that will be dropping. The more information you have about a name, the better. |

and you mean to tell me a prize domain goes through and you dont snatch it up?

also, considering there is human interaction involved - i do not think even the most diligent of us could catch every domain just based on the pace at which domains are deleting at least. |
interesting...Brujah's are much better though.

how many domains does brujah own? what are the best packages? |
Evan, c'mon.. lol. PDDW is severely lacking right now in it's infancy. Off the top of my head I know a handful of sites that have better lists, but giving you benefit of doubt I'm sure you'll work at improving PDDW so it can stand up against the others.

I wouldn't, but an independent review should be done by someone that compares all the list type services. Maybe even with a nice feature chart, etc... I think it would help everyone who was interested improve their own services.

btw brujah and peeps- the list of 3 character domains i posted for example is already filtered down on my personal criteria from the raw output- hopefully there is no confusion that my sample was raw--- shit just add the .info's the list gets outrageous. which leads back to the lottery aspect again- different searchers have different criteria so the pool is pretty big for us all....

Evan, what sets your service apart from the rest?
Are you an actual domain drop catcher? or domain drop list provider? data aggregator? Do you also backorder the domains with all the other domain drop catchers? if you do get a domain, do you then re-auction it to the people subscribed thru your site? Maybe I misread your press release and most of this thread, but I used to auto-magically aggregate all the drop lists from all the providers then cross-check, back-check, whatever-check, until I had a list of what I wanted... the rest of my data just sat there and zipped to make room for the next day's/week's domain drop. But based on my own lists, and Brujah's, and many others, what sets your service apart? just curious... not taking a stab at you or mocking you... cause I have much respect for you... you're very patent-savvy, maybe a bit too savvy for "our" good :1orglaugh , but I haven't yet seen anything you're offering as better than what's already out there... evrywhere. Please enlighten me/us. Now, when it comes to IPalert, I see lots of promise. :thumbsup . |

this is what we plan on doing on my future site DomainDrop.com :thumbsup |

To answer your questions let me start with a little history. We got frustrated with the uspto.gov as far as updates and ongoing organisation of our different patents and trademarks we monitor. We invented a system to make our intellectual property stuff easier for our own use. A bit over a year ago we notified our patent attorney of a change in status on an application and he and his law firm were kind of shocked that WE let Them know what was happening. They asked to see what we we had created for this purpose and long story short, they have several clients using the system now with managed accounts at http://IPalert.com - also, our own business interests are served through our usage as a customer of our own product. So, you start to see a market-driven situation happening on that topic. I asked Michael to build me a setup next to watche for dropped domains for our own use- a couple of people saw us moving and shaking in some auctions and what not and inquired about what service we are using. They are now customers as well as several webmasters who have helped beta the system over the last few months. Next, while talking to one of our webmaster affiliates at http://XPays.com I decided to let others use our Join Form Watcher because we were talking about billing processor uptime and he asked if he could add his url's to our proprietary watching system. We will release access to the system FREE at http://Ipalert.com in December. So, frankly, I am not to kean on what everyone else is doing and never have been a copycat. We employ the methods that work in the real world for us and help others expand their own businesses should they wish to use our services. Not every webmaster out there is super-specialized on domain acquisitions as one's such as Taboo or Brujah; So, there is room out there for our service to compete and succeed imho. Ultimately, we are reaching our target market and all the spoils that come with the expanded networking and such. We provide access to information that makes people money when they use it to their advantage and we save them the time involved with establishing their own proprietary services and systems. Our service is User-friendly - FAST - has lots of additional data and it works. We will make continual improvements give personal attention to our customers as always and respect confidentiality and privacy. |
Evan, KICKASS service as always!

also, i got my paws on the "instant backorder" button in http://IPalert.com and am quite impressed with the tool - one click - 4 backorder's on the same domain in seconds- it's quite a convenience! also, to brujah- if the icann changes help level the playing field - our service will be even more of a boon for domain people :thumbsup |
I love this tool
So what happens when I enter "Paris" into the program? |
signing up as we speak
