I can take all physical pain but a broken heart will kill me one day.

she leaves my house in the morning to go to her house to get dressed for work, she had a headache the night before, unbeknowest to me she goes to the emergency room instead of work, they send her home.

cops call my house, want me to go to station, re: my fiancee, i ask if shes alrght...they don't answer...i ask again....they don't answer. I explain to them that there is traffic and I will not be a sane man if i attempted to drive 30 miles without knowing. they assure me that she is ok. i do 120mph in the emergency lane all the way up the mass pike. i have no clue where the police station is located in her town so i go to her house instead. hearst parked in the driveway, i walk in, her father looks at me and shakes his head, two guys from the coroners are removing her from the bathtub...i cant watch. i join her 10 brothers and sisters in another room.

aneurysm in the bathtub....at least she felt no pain. 1 year....and 2 months ago. The first 8 months were unbearable...but then I started to accept the fact that I knew her...and it was a blessing.

It's only going to make me stronger. I've had to now break many hearts because of the wall I've put up. Don't mean to rain on your thread Juicy but I just thought I'd let you guys know that things do get better.

I've had my heart broken several times over. It hurts like hell. And yet I still keep setting myself up to get hurt again. I'd rather love and lose than not love at all.

I appreciate it all. Its a mind awakening experience. You look at things much different after you go through something like that. Question alot of things.

Young, I'm so sorry you went through that. It must have been terrible. I've had my heart broken once but nothing like that. I can honestly say that if anything ever happened to my husband, I don't know what I'd do.

Yeah once. But I too think it is something everyone has to experience.

Also I think that there is a big difference in a "normal" broken heart and the story Young tells us. A normal broken heart is bad, what Young tells is horrible.

If it weren't for experiencing a broken heart in the past - I never would have met and married my soulmate. :)

Young - your story was very touching. I can't begin to imagine what you went through. But it sounds as though you're starting to make a new beginning for yourself - which is good.

Wow. Pretty tough of you to put it all out there for us to read. I sure have a lot of respect for you doing it though. I just don't think I could handle that. I have a girlfriend now, very serious, I worry everytime she gets in the car that something bad will happen.

I hope you have been able to work through that. I don't know if I could.

I have had it happen twice. In both cases, I took long, enduring trips. Once I went to Buenos Aires by myself. For some reason, a drastic change to your environment just seems to help.

It is these repetitive thoughts that no one else will ever come along and that person which broke your heart doesn't understand how good things could have been.

Then anger towards them comes along. This is actually when the healing starts, in my opinion, you need to feel as though they wronged you so that your natural instincts to reject the person come along.

And these things always happen around the holidays when all your friends are happily with someone.
