I'd like to borrow $1000 from you.

I'm looking to upgrade my business. I haven't been able to come up with the extra cash I need working from home; I estimate that by putting an extra $1000 into my business right now I can generate an extra $2000/mo every month, and go up from there.
I live in a small town, I don't have any interest in going to the local bank for a loan. I do online marketing, and that's as much as the locals need to know. :)

I'm offering to pay back $200/month for the next 7 months to whoever can loan me $1,000.

Dagwolf 11-02-2005 12:15 AM

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of someone gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
" 'Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door;
Only this, and nothing more."

Ah, distinctly I remember, it was in the bleak December,
And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.
Eagerly I wished the morrow; vainly I had sought to borrow
From my books surcease of sorrow, sorrow for the lost Lenore,.
For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore,
Nameless here forevermore.

And the silken sad uncertain rustling of each purple curtain
Thrilled me---filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before;
So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating,
" 'Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door,
Some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door.
This it is, and nothing more."

Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer,
"Sir," said I, "or madam, truly your forgiveness I implore;
But the fact is, I was napping, and so gently you came rapping,
And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door,
That I scarce was sure I heard you." Here I opened wide the door;---
Darkness there, and nothing more.

Deep into the darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing
Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortals ever dared to dream before;
But the silence was unbroken, and the stillness gave no token,
And the only word there spoken was the whispered word,
Lenore?, This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word,
"Lenore!" Merely this, and nothing more.

Back into the chamber turning, all my soul within me burning,
Soon again I heard a tapping, something louder than before,
"Surely," said I, "surely, that is something at my window lattice.
Let me see, then, what thereat is, and this mystery explore.
Let my heart be still a moment, and this mystery explore.
" 'Tis the wind, and nothing more."

Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter,
In there stepped a stately raven, of the saintly days of yore.
Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed he;
But with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door.
Perched upon a bust of Pallas, just above my chamber door,
Perched, and sat, and nothing more.

Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling,
By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore,
"Though thy crest be shorn and shaven thou," I said, "art sure no craven,
Ghastly, grim, and ancient raven, wandering from the nightly shore.
Tell me what the lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore."
Quoth the raven, "Nevermore."

Much I marvelled this ungainly fowl to hear discourse so plainly,
Though its answer little meaning, little relevancy bore;
For we cannot help agreeing that no living human being
Ever yet was blessed with seeing bird above his chamber door,
Bird or beast upon the sculptured bust above his chamber door,
With such name as "Nevermore."

But the raven, sitting lonely on that placid bust, spoke only
That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour.
Nothing further then he uttered; not a feather then he fluttered;
Till I scarcely more than muttered, "Other friends have flown before;
On the morrow he will leave me, as my hopes have flown before."
Then the bird said, "Nevermore."

Startled at the stillness broken by reply so aptly spoken,
"Doubtless," said I, "what it utters is its only stock and store,
Caught from some unhappy master, whom unmerciful disaster
Followed fast and followed faster, till his songs one burden bore,---
Till the dirges of his hope that melancholy burden bore
Of "Never---nevermore."

But the raven still beguiling all my sad soul into smiling,
Straight I wheeled a cushioned seat in front of bird, and bust and door;
Then, upon the velvet sinking, I betook myself to linking
Fancy unto fancy, thinking what this ominous bird of yore --
What this grim, ungainly, ghastly, gaunt and ominous bird of yore
Meant in croaking "Nevermore."

Thus I sat engaged in guessing, but no syllable expressing
To the fowl, whose fiery eyes now burned into my bosom's core;
This and more I sat divining, with my head at ease reclining
On the cushion's velvet lining that the lamplight gloated o'er,
But whose velvet violet lining with the lamplight gloating o'er
She shall press, ah, nevermore!

Then, methought, the air grew denser, perfumed from an unseen censer
Swung by seraphim whose footfalls tinkled on the tufted floor.
"Wretch," I cried, "thy God hath lent thee -- by these angels he hath
Sent thee respite---respite and nepenthe from thy memories of Lenore!
Quaff, O quaff this kind nepenthe, and forget this lost Lenore!"
Quoth the raven, "Nevermore!"

"Prophet!" said I, "thing of evil!--prophet still, if bird or devil!
Whether tempter sent, or whether tempest tossed thee here ashore,
Desolate, yet all undaunted, on this desert land enchanted--
On this home by horror haunted--tell me truly, I implore:
Is there--is there balm in Gilead?--tell me--tell me I implore!"
Quoth the raven, "Nevermore."

"Prophet!" said I, "thing of evil--prophet still, if bird or devil!
By that heaven that bends above us--by that God we both adore--
Tell this soul with sorrow laden, if, within the distant Aidenn,
It shall clasp a sainted maiden, whom the angels name Lenore---
Clasp a rare and radiant maiden, whom the angels name Lenore?
Quoth the raven, "Nevermore."

"Be that word our sign of parting, bird or fiend!" I shrieked, upstarting--
"Get thee back into the tempest and the Night's Plutonian shore!
Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken!
Leave my loneliness unbroken! -- quit the bust above my door!
Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!"
Quoth the raven, "Nevermore."

And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming.
And the lamplight o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted---nevermore!

what kind of business are you gonna be upgrading?

Dagwolf 11-02-2005 01:27 AM

My wife and I do affiliate promotions (blogs/galleries/freesites/AVS/TGP). We have several paysites of our own in the works as well.

Dagwolf 11-02-2005 05:30 AM

Still open; I'll offer as an alternative repayment a lump sum of $1200 in 90 days.

Here's a tip: Why don't your wife and you do a JOB???? You know, the kind that you actually get off your asses and go do some real work and get a paycheck, instead of coming to gfy and panhandling OVER and OVER and OVER again??

When the hell did this become beggars.com? Holy fuck- do you not have a single ounce of shame?

You're not even an adult webmaster. Do you even HAVE a website? You sit home on your computer living on your husband's paycheck and trolling on GFY, and for some reason you've made picking on me your pet project.

Who are you and why am I your problem? Get a job yourself!

spideriux 11-02-2005 08:18 AM

I don't live off of anyone.

Here's something I'm sure you'll find amazing- I support myself. I know that is a totally foreign concept to you, since you're on here begging for money every few months, but believe it or not, some people actually pay their own bills.

Dagwolf 11-02-2005 09:42 AM

How do you support yourself? This is an adult webmaster board. Meaning, a board for adult webmasters.

If loans are charity I guess I should go back to COLLEGE, because I missed that lesson.

well, she wasn't the one begging for money here... :2 cents:

if you don't have any real life friends to loan you a thousand bucks that alone would steer me clear of dealing any money to you. just my 2 cents nothin personal..

Seriously, go flip burgers at McD's for a 8 weeks and you'll have your $1000 - and some pride because you got it on your own.

Wow, someone who thinks you can support a family flipping burgers at McDonalds and save $1000! Amazing.

Actually my INCOME is none of your business; it's equal to my expenses at this point. I want to put more money into my business to increase my income so that it's greater than my expenses.

This is a concept known as investment.

You should also look up the concept of borrowing money at interest. Billionaires do it.

pussyluver 11-02-2005 10:10 AM

actually selling the sig say for three months could be worth it to a lot of people.

1st the buyer would have a potential of 10K+ backlinks with their choice of anchor text. Google still does crawl GFY. Maybe ya get credit for some percentage, still a value.

Then there is the branding aspect. Dag is on the board about every day.

Next comes the new affiliates. Dagwolf = pro-spammer.

A real deal.

So someone make Dag an offer for his sig and reap the rewards.

Screaming 11-02-2005 10:11 AM

If you're willing to pay $1400 on a $1000 loan, then you should go to a bank. They will charge much less interest than 40% and are more flexible with payment terms. I'm rather surprised you'd rather avoid a bank and that alone puts a certain questionability into your request.

I intend to use the extra INCOME generated for new living expenses. I'd like a new car and a new house. I'm not one to eat my seed corn.

WiredGuy 11-02-2005 10:25 AM

Alternatively, if you really don't want to take a bank loan, take $1000 out as a cash advance on your credit card like Visa or Mastercard. Their interest rates are only 18-21% which is half of what you're willing to pay and you get it instantly. Plus you're very flexible on payment terms, you can pay as little as 5% of the debt to 100% within a month.
WG

Dalai lama 11-02-2005 10:25 AM

40% up that's insane. Go to a bank or digipawn.com from Rick Latona

dynastoned 11-02-2005 10:26 AM

like i said bank or visa they work wonders. :)

Monique Niccole 11-02-2005 10:27 AM

If you have skills, why don't you offer to do something for someone for the $1k instead of asking for a loan? Can you design? write? submit? fluff?

'Cause I think the likelihood of you getting a loan here is nil.

Dagwolf 11-02-2005 10:31 AM

Actually I think that's the annual interest rate, so it would be much less if paid off within 6 months. Unfortunately I don't have a visa; I keep applying with "self-employed" on the employment line and they keep denying it with "insufficient credit history". *shrugs*

So we're building our credit by buying household items on credit, but it takes time.
