Were girls in Adult industry sexually abused as kids?

I hope this does not come off wrong, I am not taking shots at anyone, just curious about what everyone thinks. By the way, I am talking about pornstars and girls in front of the camera, not the girls behind the scene obviously.

Do you think that the majority of girls involved in the Porn industry(in front of the camera) have been sexually/physically abused as kids?

I know that all say they love their job, but really, how many have emotional issues because they were abused as kids and are now acting out?

ProjectNaked 10-03-2005 01:03 PM

Girls/women in every industry, every field, every whatever, may have been abused. Just because a female is chasing a fantasy of making millions of dollars and living the high life like a movie star doesn't mean they were abused. If you are Catholic, does it mean you were abused?

Fred Quimby 10-03-2005 01:24 PM

There is only 1 of 2 reason why a chick would be fucked up.

1. Her daddy didn't love her.
2. Her daddy loved her too much.

Elli 10-03-2005 01:31 PM

Well I know I personally wasn't abused. But I think there are a great lot of abused girls who get taken advantage of and end up in jobs where they are easily led around and treated otherwise unprofessionally and they accept it as par for the course.

Wow.

And I doubt there's much of a correlation between being abused as a child and wanting to fuck hundreds of guys on camera for money. That's just my opnion though, I could be wrong.

Everyone knows opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one and they're all full of shit.

jukeboxfrank 10-03-2005 01:33 PM

I was wondering now don't take me wrong. But are most posters on GFY dropped on their heads as baby's.

Rinaldo 10-03-2005 01:36 PM

I know lawyers taht were abused, I know dancers, I know a girl that works at disney was abused. yes I'm sure many of them were, some pornstars say they were in interviews... but it's an inaccurate generalization

Rhesus 10-03-2005 01:39 PM

Yes it's quite possible.

Elli, from your experience, do you think there is a higher number of girls who have been abused in adult compared to other industries?

Elli 10-03-2005 01:51 PM

Honestly I haven't talked to the talent-only girls on any kind of personal level, so I have no idea. Among the amateurs I know? None that I've spoken to has talked of any kind of childhood abuse. Spousal abuse yes, but not childhood stuff.

jakethedog 10-03-2005 01:55 PM

I have been in the Biz for 8 years .. shot countless hours of footage .. performed in even more .. and i totally believe everyone who is in the biz from the performing aspect has had some type of different than "normal" upbringing ... like some one said /\ they were either not loved enough or loved "too" much ..

XAKEP 10-03-2005 01:56 PM

I know several porn sluts who were and are sexually abused as kids. by kids I mean 16 years old. They seem to love it.

I hate h00manz

xNetworx 10-03-2005 01:58 PM

I would think that a woman who agrees to be savagely gangbanged by 38 guys and bukkake'd may have had some trauma in her childhood.

Midget 10-03-2005 02:00 PM

Girls? How about guys? Judging from some of the posts here, half this board got molested.

Tat2Jr 10-03-2005 02:02 PM

This is serious, and not a joke:

The number one indicator of "Is my daughter going to do porn when she's 18?" is if you sent them to Catholic School or not. I swear 60% of my models went to Catholic School. Anyone else notice this?

tASSy 10-03-2005 02:13 PM

what can i say that hasn't already been said? women and men who have been abusing are working in every industry out there - as for whether or not the incidence is higher in the adult world, all i know is most people *think* yes. i've never seen any clear facts on this, but coming from a psychology background having started my career path in counseling i can say that it is a common trend for women who have been abused as children (perhaps not even sexually) to end up in jobs and relationships where they aren't seen as equals or are often "walked" all over.

the relevance of which job they end up in is almost irrelevant, whereas the importance of who knows/realises/preys upon these women's insecurities is much more pertinent.

You never know or never will.

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 10-03-2005 02:17 PM

Everyone is abused in life.

It is part of living.

Rui 10-03-2005 02:19 PM

is this some sort of twisted joke?

I never was but I don't think I'm necessarily "wired" like most people.

On the other hand, my husband definately was and even talks about it in his biography on his site.

leia 10-03-2005 02:33 PM

Some say looking for love or acceptance through sexual gratification comes from underlying insecurity issues or entombed self hatred. Abuse comes in all shapes and sizes, but kids can't equalize or retaliate it's effects, so they may go "all out" later in life. On some level just about everyone was abused as a kid (it's what makes us American), but to insinuate that every woman that chooses to express herself openly sexually has been abused in that manner is nonsensical.

billywatson 10-03-2005 02:38 PM

the 5 reasons girls do hardcore porn:

1) abused in their childhood
2) they're currently having a problem with drugs
3) they had religion (most often Christianity) shoved down their throats during their childhood
4) they're codependent
5) they like having sex as much as men (this is the rarest trait)

You can also combo any of the above, which is almost always the case.

I'm also including abadonment issues with #1.

Kard63 10-03-2005 02:45 PM

I'm sure its more common for them to enter this industry but to say how much more common would be really hard to do because it would be hard to get some honest responses about that topic.

EDIT: I'm talking about the chicks that get dicked by strangers. I think most people would get naked for a buck. Big difference.

poppet 10-03-2005 02:49 PM

I don't think it matters in what industry a girl works, really, she could have gotten abused or not. It's not just porn girls who get abused. :(

you would hope #5 would be the most common reason

Thank you for creating this thread. This has been an untouched discussion due to the fact that it comes off as offensive to the talent/models on this board.

From what I've experienced, a lot of the girls who have had troublesome childhood's have turned out to take on a job where they think they're in control of the situation. The seem to believe that they have control over the men they work with/for by using their sexuality.
example: Strippers / Prostitutes / Hardcore Models

But there are cases where the girl was pushed or talked into joining this industry, and ended up liking it.

that's not the issue... obviously in every industry there are people who've been abused, that goes without saying..

the issue is whether or not the adult industry "employs" a higher percentage of sexually abused females than other industries. if you think about it from a logical perspective, YES, the adult industry probably does house more sexually abused females than in any other industry. why? because most conventional upbringings teach children that it's inappropriate to do things like get naked and fuck strangers. those who didn't experience this type of upbringing (whether it meant that it was just not addressed, or they were actually sexually abused), are probably more inclined to be associated with the adult industry in one way or another.

of course, there are exceptions to everything and i'm sure there are actresses with perfectly normal upbringings --- but i'm assuming they are in the minority.

you bring up a good point, i've read from several different sources that often times women who were abused often become promiscuous in an attempt to reclaim their sexuality that was taken from them as a child. they want to gain control over their sexual experiences, something they never had as victims.

Yes, and Yes. Girls in this industry and much more likely to have been abused. Any more questions?

venus 10-03-2005 05:17 PM

and what of the guy who spends countless hours trying to find a girl to do these things so he can photograph it, one might conclude that he has some serious childhood issues by wanting to be involved in this also.

tristan_D 10-04-2005 01:28 AM

well its not an indicator. although there may be some in the biz that were abused as a child and it prompted them to be in this biz it doesn't mean we can conclude than an abuse child will soon end up in the adult biz.

Nope, we all have weird fantasies but we don't act them out. When money is a determining factor, anything legal goes.
Can the same be said about the girl, getting paid $2,000 for her dignity?

IMO If we go by your method of thought, most of the people in the mainstream media will fall into the same category.

You're right. But I don't think anyone is trying to conclude that.
There's a few other determining factors, especially how these girls got into the adult industry. Boyfriend / Ex / Friend etc...

I tend to agree with your statements billy, although it does not seem to be a very popular view here.

bdld 10-04-2005 02:23 PM

you bet, abused girls turn into porn chicks

BigRod 10-04-2005 02:28 PM
