How can you live like that?

mrthumbs 10-02-2005 08:59 AM

i love the boa constrictor.. its a red tale right?

C_U_Next_Tuesday 10-02-2005 09:07 AM

yes a red tail...he has been great so far.. Just have to get everyone in my household to handle him so when he gets big and becomes a handful for me.. I have back up.

I didnt invite the black widow in my house.. I am just glad i find them when i do. I swear we have several species of spiders living within my house.. the only one I dont kill is the cotton jumping spider cause they eat the dreaded moths in the house.

The black will die as soon as the kids see her..She is in a jar right now. Have to educate them on whats poisonous and whats not.

why pay someone hundreds of dollars when the spiders will just come back inside from the outside..

I am the exterminator in my house..squash them and I dont have to poison my environment with any wicked chemicals

Some of you guys are pussies..its not like you walk around my house and its screaming with cobwebs and spiders hanging form the walls (well only on halloween).

in fact, I bet you have a spider of some kind living in your home right now ..hurry kill it! :1orglaugh

mrthumbs 10-02-2005 09:48 AM

How dangerous are black widow spider bites?
If a black widow spider bites a person, do not panic! No one in the United States has died from a black widow spider bite in over 10 years. Very often the black widow will not inject any venom into the bite and no serious symptoms develop. Wash the wound well with soap and water to help prevent infection.

If muscle cramps develop, take the patient to the nearest hospital. Some victims, especially young children, may be admitted overnight for observation and treatment. There is treatment for a black widow spider bite that can take care of the symptoms. Various medications are used to treat the muscle cramps, spasms and pain of a bite. Black widow spider antivenin is seldom necessary.
for you Mr. thumbs

Paolo Pinkas 10-02-2005 01:31 PM

Boy, I'm glad there do not live any poisonous spiders where I live.
I find the thought of a living Black Widow in my house quite scaring :(

dig420 10-02-2005 01:34 PM

I had black widows all over the place when I lived in the San Fernando Valley. Even saw a little rattlesnake under a big pile of wood. I also used to do pest control bleah..

Black Widows won't generally hurt you unless you sit on them or something. It's best to kill them since the bite is so fucking nasty but they're nothing to get too worried about if they're around. Just look into any dark corners before you stick your hand in there and watch what you're sitting on :)

20 million year old spider found in amber

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/e...er/4296398.stm

I got no problems with spiders, i'm originally from Florida so black widows and brown recluses are all too common.

C_U_Next_Tuesday 10-02-2005 03:06 PM

we also have what they call "yellow sac" spider here.. they are agressive little fucks.

That really sucks. It is one of the reasons holding me back from moving out into the country to be honest. I'm scared to death of spiders.

I didn't know brown recluse even came close to Washington? Are you sure it's a brown recluse?

dready 10-02-2005 03:22 PM

I just took this pic last week when I was in California... it was walking across the parking lot:

yes we've all heard this stupid "fact" before...

you probably eat more spiders in your fruits and vegtables than anything. most of the spiders people swallow, they cannot even see.

phatzaneŽ 10-02-2005 03:31 PM

i agree on the exterminator thing though....do you really want your children coming up and showing you this.... :(
