Swimming with wild dolphins..
 

Still here in Hawaii. Woke about 7am today and headed out on the boat into the ocean and found a couple nice schools of dolphins. Jumped out of the boat and swam around with them for a few hours. They accepted me into their home and performed some crazy tricks for me, 4 inches from me, while we swam together. I snapped about 30 pics with an underwater camera... it was nutty, pics coming in a few days....

the people i went with were the biggest fucking trippers ive ever met. tHEY Told me that these dolphins are magical and healing, and that they would cause deep emotions to arise and when they do, to just ride with them.

i was like, "WTF"?

The guy i know who took me on his boat had this wife who was singing to them, like some fucking cracked out hippy. was such a wierd deal. i will do it again, no matter.

yes I've heard about dolphins helping people who need a deeper connection. Maybe doctors should swim with dolphins because medication is not the only thing that helps.

i still dont understand how it's even possible that dolphins could help a human in anyway but transportation.

i swam with them, came eye to eye with a few and felt nothing but intrusion on their territory.

I had one come up to me and look me over like a freakin' police officer, twice... thought for a sec he was going to take a taste of my flesh...

but he gave one big slap of his tail in front of me, took a dump and swam off.

bro, it's on the big island. right by the airport in kona (KOA) my homie, (China Mike) will take you out and YOU'RE SURE to find them. He knows all teh dolphin by name. It's trippy.

I was reading an article about two guys who go to the jungle to make friends with Gorillas and have them accepted into their world (friends). One of them men does not take a gun, and is accepted my the Gorilas as a friend and they are friendly with him. The one guy who takes a gun is not accepted by the Gorillas and is kept as an ousider. I think you need to change your perception of how you play with the dolphins in order to gain their trust. These animals can probably feel it from you.

we were told to keep our arms at our sides... not to make big movements.... told to "be a dolphin" and that's what my fiancee and i did. were very very calm and collective, keeping arms at our wastes, they would come up to my face (3-4 inches from my eyeball) and double take me...

if i would move my arms to swim, they would flee immediately, 1 mile away w/in seconds.

If I would act naturl like them, they would chill. i had a baby that was about 1 foot long, chilling with me like i was it's parent. while it's parent was at my side, almost monitoring the cub as if i were baby sitting it.

I was swimming with dolphins about 2 weeks ago in cancun in captivity. Swimming with them when they are free in their natural habitat must be a transcendent experience.

Note that the NOAA, NMFS, Hawaii DLNR, Wild Dolphin Foundation, and other conservation groups and scientists discourage swimming with wild dolphins, and advise viewing from no closer than 50 yards. Legislation is under consideration to explicitly ban the swimming tours. Existing federal legislation bans "harassment" of wild dolphins, but doesn't define harassment very clearly.

Yes, I was staying at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel (again) on big island. It's about 30 min drive north of the Kona Airport.



*** The pics were taken with underwater cameras, so i have to go get them developed. I just got home like 20 minutes ago, will drop off the film tomorrow.
