Friday's Mega Millions Lotto is 1/4 BILLION Dollars

Buy your tickets! Estimated drawing is $250,000,000.00 and if no one wins Friday next Tuesday's drawing we will be pushing the US record for largest lotto prize of $314.9 million dollars won by Andrew Whittaker of West Virginia. Imagine if no one wins for a couple of weeks. This could get massive.

MrIzzz 09-14-2005 07:50 AM

i guesss that means i didnt win last night :(

Scotty.T 09-14-2005 07:51 AM

Ha ha. I hear what you're saying, but is $250m not already massive? :)

theS2O 09-14-2005 07:56 AM

that's a fortune.. wow

tgpshack 09-14-2005 07:57 AM

Even if you took straight cash (bigger tax) on a 250m prize your still immensly rich. Anywhere to buy tickets online? Just for the heck of it might buy a ticket or to

Scott McD 09-14-2005 07:58 AM

Damn, someone's gonna end up very lucky indeed.

I never win shit... :(

Screaming 09-14-2005 08:00 AM

No, It is huge but we may set a new record soon for the largest US lotto jackpot. They said when California joined into Mega Millions the lotto could push 500 million every now and then. Looks like it may pretty soon. :thumbsup

tgpshack 09-14-2005 08:04 AM

http://www.lotteryuniverse.com/ looks interesting

Matt Collins 09-14-2005 08:05 AM

I think its my turn to finally win. I have never even come close to winning a decent jackpoint, which is why its just not worth the time until it gets over $100MM

Matt

Slick 09-14-2005 08:06 AM

I've been buying tickets to win that jackpot already. I think that now that it's up to $250 million, I'll really have to buy a big pile of tickets.

Manowar 09-14-2005 08:07 AM

holy friggin moly

tgpshack 09-14-2005 08:12 AM

If you have the winning ticket you win. You do not have to even live in the US.

tgpshack 09-14-2005 08:34 AM

just bought 5 tickets :)

Gungadin 09-14-2005 08:36 AM

Just max out your RRSP contribution for the year and you will be fine. LOL.

Besides, lottery winnings are tax free in Canada. I might have to buy a ticket!

If you win they will take taxes out in the US when you claim your prize but I wouldn't mind paying the taxes and taking what is left. :thumbsup

MakingItPay 09-14-2005 09:01 AM

If you take the cash option, that is about half of that, then the government takes half, but 62 million is not a bad return on a $5.00 investment. ;)

Big Fish 47 09-14-2005 09:39 AM

I just bought 3 tickets. :)

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 09-14-2005 09:42 AM

I got 3 numbers last night.

Grrrrr.

44, 52, 30.

THe U.S government takes half of that $250million in taxes?!? Damn talk about greedy...
What`s the other option? Other than straight cash?
And what if the winner is outside the U.S?

Jeez. Burning 188 million is more fun then giving it away to the government and tax offices.

Bama 09-14-2005 10:14 AM

Hope this formats ok - I'd go lump sum for sure!

Bama 09-14-2005 10:16 AM

Nope, won't format but at the end of 26 years (taking a lump sum, after taxes and spending 14 million on stuff and putting 60 million in the bank - you'll have 136 million in savings
