Industry Folks Need Relief.... Help Osiris and Wicked Temptress
 

ok guys, as most of you know Osiris and WT live in an area of louisiana that was pretty devastated by Katrina. Red and I have coordinated to set something up for them so we can help them out. They wont have regular mail or internet service most likely for at LEAST a month, so they have no way of working and no access to any of their epass or paypal money and they have 2 beatiful kids to feed.

So Red set up a paypal account in order to collect some funds and we will be wiring the money via western union later on to them (only way they can get anything right now)

I would like everyone to know that I'm doing this out of concern for a friend, not because I was asked to by Osiris or anyone else. Osiris and WT are in a pretty bad place right now and they could really use our help. I couldnt think of a better group of people to ask then the people in this industry. The overall kindness and generosity of the people here never ceases to amaze me.

the ability to work for most likely at least a month. Tornadoes ripped through their town, no cable, no phones, just electricity at this point. Theyre estimating it to take a month maybe longer before the area is back to normal somewhat. so they have no access to whats in their paypal or epass or any way to design and deliver sites. Essentially he's lost 100% of his income and has some minor damage to his place. Mail is also not being delivered since it was routed through new orleans

LadyM - thanks babe, i do what I can for the people I care about, nevermind my bank is under like 8 feet of water and i have no access to my money lol, i have checks coming in i can cash and "get by" with, they dont even have that. I can do without frivelous shit for a while, thats not a concern, but they've lost their entire source of income, i gotta help as much as I can

This thread deserves a lot more attention then it's gotten. Come on people, these people work with us in the industry, their lives got turned upside down and they have kids to feed.

Thanks so much to everyone who has donated. I just got through to Wicked Temptress on her cell.
She said things are unbelievable. The stores have very little food, mostly snacks. They are being rationed on bread and packaged meat. There is no milk, there isn't much and they are only letting a limited number of people into the store at a time. Gas means hours of waiting and then rationed at $10 at a time, at $3.18 a gallon. The banks are even limiting the amount of money that can be withdrawn.

Their house survived, but she said the metal shed they had in the backyard is now completely molded around a large tree.

Since they have no cable, the only news they are getting is from the radio. They really don't know the complete devestation that's been done. No cable means no internet, no means of work. No mail means the checks they have coming can't get through.

I was just so happy to hear her voice and to know that they are all ok. Whatever we can send them will help. They'll be without income earning ability for at least a couple of months.

I don't think that they can legitimately be considered to be in the industry if adult isn't their main source of income.

They have been in the industry full time since 1997. That isn't legitimate enough for you? How long have you been in the business?

they're just north of the lake (pontchartrain) and haven't left the area. I dont wanna say what town since I dont really wanna divulge any more personal info then need be. But I'm sure you can narrow it down being from roughly the same area

They do so much in the industry...

Osiris designs as well as runs a bunch of other sites as well as handles their webmaster program with Wicked Temptress (see sig) ...Wicked Temptress writes, as well as does cam work, and is taking a photography course... so before too much longer I'm going to have a very difficult time thinking of any single area of adult that they *don't* work with.

so there are peoples with barely demolated homes, working electricity, but no internet. and in their shops they limit what they can buy,and at their gas-station they limit how much gas they get?

and why should peoples donate?

can't they work on designs for own future pages, se-stuff, avs, and,and,and if the have energy, and upload all that later?

there are really peoples in need, open your eyes. and peoples with houses are not the right ones for donations.
they don't have about $3k to survive an month without outside work if they are since 98 in adult?

holy fuck, leave the donations to peoples who really need it!
