Jarmusch 09-02-2005 07:25 PM

The tap water here is very good and I'm too lazy to buy bottled water. Only on rare ocasions.

Brujah 09-02-2005 07:34 PM

Army Colonel I worked with wouldn't touch tap water. He'd spend tons of money on bottled water instead. I wondered what he thought or had seen, that made him not trust tap water.

J$tyle$ 09-02-2005 07:37 PM

Costco has great deals on cases of bottled water.

Usually buy a couple cases each week.

Tap water in California is crap!

Doctor Dre 09-02-2005 07:42 PM

Yeah. I'm drinking Deer Park half pints right now. The brand doesn't matter to me... whatever is there or they're running a special on. My tap water tastes funny.

B.C. once had some of the best Glacier but in reality the geese shit in the reservoirs and they have to add more chlorine to kill the fecal matter..too gross for me

Th!nk 09-02-2005 09:28 PM

just Evian....

potter 09-02-2005 09:42 PM

Well to just throw out some facts most people don't know about bottled water. Bottled Water is controlled and regulated by the F.D.A.. From the beginning they have had little to no restrictions on bottled water. Tap water is controlled and regulated by the government (even though I'm fed up with them at the moment). They have much better regulations on tap water. There isn't much which is allowed into tap water. Believe it or not bottled water is much more dangerous than tap water. And 99% of all your bottled water is made here in the states at refineries in Ohio and Mississippi. All of which take ordinary water and put it into bottles. Your not getting so called "glacier/spring/mountain/etc" water. It's just a marketing technique. People who drink bottled water because they think it's cleaner and safer than tap water need to get their facts straight.

With all this said. I drink bottled water & I drink whatever is the cheapest when I'm at the store (right now I have arrowhead). I drink bottled water because it's convienent.

no I dont

bad_girl 09-02-2005 09:48 PM

I find it interesting though that there have been some studies in regards to children and having more cavities from drinking bottled water because of the lack of fluoride compared to tap water.

INTERESTING

dig420 09-02-2005 09:49 PM

I got in the habit when I lived in LA. The difference in taste is subtle, but it's there.

Just make sure you get water that says 'spring water' or 'bottled at the source' on the label, otherwise you might be buying purified tap water. Aquafina is tap water, so is Dasani, they're owned by coke and pepsi.

beemk 09-02-2005 09:50 PM

kirkland usually, its costco brand.

amandaspost 09-02-2005 09:50 PM

we buy cases of poland spring at cosco

Actually there's a big difference between a bottled Mineral/Spring water and a Distilled Water... I prefer the Distilled.. anyone watched jackie chans Tuxedo? spring/mineral water is risky...I mentioned about the hard container because once you press bottles with less quality they are likely to become a vacutainer getting all the airborne bacteria and fungus... :Oh crap

Spunky 09-02-2005 09:52 PM

Truth is it is all tap water run through carbon filters and a fancy label slapped on with a bit of promotion...

Yeah, I shoulda added distilled water is in it's own classification. :thumbsup

sniperwolf 09-02-2005 09:55 PM

yeah.. better yet get one from a reputable disttillers.. just as potter said.. it's FDA regulated.. ran for water analysis before they get their license to produce such product and this is done I think quarterly?

JasonB 09-02-2005 09:58 PM

Nope, I had a RO installed with a chiller. ..icy cold out of the tap.
