I Test Drove The 2006 Honda Ridgeline Today

http://images.businessweek.com/db/05.../ridgeline.jpg

Fuck what a nice truck! I am not a real big truck kind of guy but let me tell you this truck was a nice ride! Very quiet inside, tons of useful features, decent power and had great curbside appeal. :)

I think we're going to buy one as I need a truck for my property management business and also we need a vehicle to pull around my stepdad's boat and our snowmobiles... Anyone else bought one of these yet?

It's nice dude, you should stop by a honda dealership and check it out. I personally think it resembles a Chevrolet Avalance more than anything else

each to there own, :winkwink:

personally i am into tradition, and in tradition the japanese do not make trucks. just like driving a lexus SUV, all seems kind of tacky imo.

my buddy drives a 2005 dodge RAM loaded and i am telling you that is a REAL truck.

also the Chevy Avalanche is MAD tacky imo, i like urban and stylish look, not boxy. :)

VeriSexy 09-02-2005 05:49 PM

Japanese trucks :Oh crap

Jarmusch 09-02-2005 05:52 PM

Didn't even knew Honda made trucks. It's not like they would sell any around here anyways.

Doctor Dre 09-02-2005 05:52 PM

Chevys are real trucks ... and this one looks awesome ... is it teh first year honda is gonna make a truck ?

phonesex 09-02-2005 06:24 PM

I would skip it and buy a gm/chevy/ford. If your thinking of trucks go with these guys. Otherwise get a sedan

Nismo 09-02-2005 06:33 PM

I test drove on back in april or so. Very nice truck, but the inside resembled a minivan. :(

crockett 09-02-2005 06:35 PM

Those things are about butt ugly.. I saw one the other day and well that's what I thought about it. If you are looking for a ugly truck then that is one for sure.

sniperwolf 09-02-2005 06:42 PM

It's not bad at all actually

Sparks 09-02-2005 06:53 PM

I'm not a big fan of foreign trucks...

MrJackMeHoff 09-02-2005 07:09 PM

"Honda Truck" Oxymoron?

poppet 09-02-2005 07:13 PM

I love Hondas. I miss my Civic - awesome gas mileage and that thing went through all kinds of hell before it finally died.

pimpin 09-02-2005 09:35 PM

i got a japanese truck and it drinks as much gas as those fords/chevy/dodges too :)
$70 to fill up today.

simple simon 09-02-2005 09:39 PM

Ford truck or go home. I saw an editorial on that truck last week, were they said its great and all for city driving, take it anywhere resembling off road and forget about it. No low 4 wheel drive will get you nowhere fast. Let's not forget that styling is a ridiculous rip off. F250 or F350 is the choice made by millions for a reason

kristin 09-02-2005 09:40 PM

Shouldn't you end your posts with DM now? ; )

I'm not a big truck person, but that's not bad looking.

Sosa 09-02-2005 10:37 PM

someone here in town has one of them. I think they are ugly. Just get a nice Chevy Silverado or something. Would do the trick for you.

emthree 09-03-2005 12:35 AM

Good fucking luck with these gas prices

The choise is made by million becaue Fords are cheap and they give loans to people Chevy and Dodge wont touch.. Fords also have terrible resale value.

looks like shit, i'd never drive a rice truck.

quiet 09-03-2005 04:06 AM

you need to watch the Top Gear episode where they try to kill a Toyota truck by setting it on fire, putting it in the ocean, putting on top of a building for a controlled demolotion, ETC and the truck NEVER dies. Did you ever notice in africa they all drive really old unkillable toyota trucks?

Rebel D 09-03-2005 05:53 AM

You could always Get that ever promised el camino! Very Useful!

I give the Ridgline 2, maybe 3 months before you can buy fartcan exhausts and poorly made ABS plastic bodykits.

Having said that, if I was ever in the market for a truck, I'd buy the ridgeline, simply because when you decide you want to sell it, you wont get a return of something similar to pennies on the dollar the way you would if you bought a Ford. Don't get me wrong, my dad owned a Ford for a while when I was younger, and it was a nice truck. Except there was always something going wrong with it. And it cost something like 100 bucks to fill up, BEFORE filling up was considered being raped.

1mpg better then a ford f150 or a toyota tundra isnt that impressive. btw, ford sucks. id rather buy a toyota and get my moneys worth then worry about selling it a year from now cause i just gotta get the new model with different tail lights. its also a good sign when you're looking in the paper for used trucks for sale and see 1 toyota surrounded by 20-30 chevys and fords 2-3 years old. toyota :thumbsup

Peaches 09-03-2005 06:49 AM

Can you really use it as a "truck"? I know I can put more stuff in my Exploder with the seats down than I could in my Ranger and the Ranger seems to have more room than the Ridgeline.

Honestly, if you're looking for something truly useful for "trucking", I'd get a single cab 150 or something. Once you start making the trucks comfy, you lose their utility abilities.

Then again, if you're going to use it mostly for driving and ocassionally for hauling, I think it's a damn good looking vehicle! :)

250 and 350 diesels are virtually undestructible and have excellent resell value. That said, they are the ONLY things from Ford I would ever consider buying after owning 2 Rangers and an Explorer. If you don't need the size/towing abilities/etc. then the Toyotas are the way to go, IMHO.

Downtime 09-03-2005 07:34 AM

honda's are pretty nice cars, think you'll like your purchase

Drake 09-03-2005 07:37 AM

I've never owned a truck. Are American trucks way better than American cars in terms of dependability?

gangbangjoe 09-03-2005 07:58 AM

not looking that bad

i would go for it if you liked it

dont hasitate just because of the brand name
that would be bullshit

japanes cars are almost more relieable then german cars
