what the FUCK was Bush just talkin about??

anybody else just watch him live on TV??

the media asked VERY SIMPLE questions, and he couldnt come up with answers!!

Media: Mr President, what is going to be done for those without shelter, both temporarily & long term?

Bush: FEMA is helping with that (then he babbles about nothing for 2 minutes that doesnt make sense)

Media: Is New Orleans going to be rebuilt above sea level so that this never happens again?

Bush: I'm going to talk to experts in New Orleans to see whats the best way to rebuild is.

THERE IS NO ONE IS NEW ORLEANS!!! lol

Hes such a moron. God help us all. And will he ever admit to letting people die because he didnt act fast enough?? :disgust

WarChild 09-02-2005 11:04 AM

It's all Bush's fault, naturally. Nobody else to blame, like people who stayed in the city after two days of notice. What about Congress? Bush should be down there with a shovel and rain coat, right?

dig420 09-02-2005 11:05 AM

I wish they'd give him that transmitter back that he used in the debates so he could at least seem articulate and presidential in times of crisis.

I'm sorry but i don't see how he can be blamed for this.

Warning was given. He couldn't go and personally escort everyone out could he. People made choices, some left, some stayed behind. And now the one's who stayed are crying out for help, and pointing the blame elsewhere.

It has already been discussed in many threads on here about people saying they couldn't afford to leave. Yeah right...

Realpascal 09-02-2005 11:11 AM

The whole world saw he's a moron years ago.. he still got re-elected..
:error

Hollywood Horwitz 09-02-2005 12:40 PM

well you can say ,lets not blame bush, its not his fault, however he doesnt sound like hes really doing anything from the speech or does he have answers, which is his fault.yes congress is this or that, but Bush just got back from vacation for christ sake..

alexg 09-02-2005 12:47 PM

In 90% of other parts of the world, nobody would be warned and there would be hundreds of thousands in casualties...

think about this sentense for a second ^^^

when such natural disaster hits you can't avoid casualties.. the BEST you can do is give a warning.

there will be a few thousands dead probably and it's very very sad but there would be MUCH MUCH more if it wasn't for the warning...

kmanrox 09-02-2005 12:52 PM

he's a twat... i can't believe my country's people elected this babbling boob...

Downtime 09-02-2005 12:54 PM

There was plenty of warning, people ignored it; there's nothing else to it. I love it how some people are still salty from last November.

bush caused the hurricane

badmunchkin 09-02-2005 01:06 PM

What makes me laugh is people who went on & on during the election about how Bush is so tough and Kerry was a pussy.

no, Bush is a PUSSY - yea, he's war and money hungry - that doesn't equal tough. He's not the one going to war. yea, I could see Kerry going down with a shovel and a raincoat and helping out - cuz he cares about people. Bush is a sorry-ass PUSSY daddy's boy - there's nothing tough about him. And he dropped the ball again.

Deej 09-02-2005 01:08 PM

no, some of you are right....bush shouldnt be blamed for not being there with a raincoat and wet socks....with sweat on his brow.....what he should be blamed for is not acting soon enough ...or having all of his resources "elsewhere" .... and when say canada offered their help and supplies.....he turned them down.....

theres much more....

this i believe said it all though....from the very controversial, Michael Moore...read on...

Dear Mr. Bush:

Any idea where all our helicopters are? It's Day 5 of Hurricane Katrina and thousands remain stranded in New Orleans and need to be airlifted. Where on earth could you have misplaced all our military choppers? Do you need help finding them? I once lost my car in a Sears parking lot. Man, was that a drag.

Also, any idea where all our national guard soldiers are? We could really use them right now for the type of thing they signed up to do like helping with national disasters. How come they weren't there to begin with?

Last Thursday I was in south Florida and sat outside while the eye of Hurricane Katrina passed over my head. It was only a Category 1 then but it was pretty nasty. Eleven people died and, as of today, there were still homes without power. That night the weatherman said this storm was on its way to New Orleans. That was Thursday! Did anybody tell you? I know you didn't want to interrupt your vacation and I know how you don't like to get bad news. Plus, you had fundraisers to go to and mothers of dead soldiers to ignore and smear. You sure showed her!

I especially like how, the day after the hurricane, instead of flying to Louisiana, you flew to San Diego to party with your business peeps. Don't let people criticize you for this -- after all, the hurricane was over and what the heck could you do, put your finger in the dike?

And don't listen to those who, in the coming days, will reveal how you specifically reduced the Army Corps of Engineers' budget for New Orleans this summer for the third year in a row. You just tell them that even if you hadn't cut the money to fix those levees, there weren't going to be any Army engineers to fix them anyway because you had a much more important construction job for them -- BUILDING DEMOCRACY IN IRAQ!

On Day 3, when you finally left your vacation home, I have to say I was moved by how you had your Air Force One pilot descend from the clouds as you flew over New Orleans so you could catch a quick look of the disaster. Hey, I know you couldn't stop and grab a bullhorn and stand on some rubble and act like a commander in chief. Been there done that.

There will be those who will try to politicize this tragedy and try to use it against you. Just have your people keep pointing that out. Respond to nothing. Even those pesky scientists who predicted this would happen because the water in the Gulf of Mexico is getting hotter and hotter making a storm like this inevitable. Ignore them and all their global warming Chicken Littles. There is nothing unusual about a hurricane that was so wide it would be like having one F-4 tornado that stretched from New York to Cleveland.

No, Mr. Bush, you just stay the course. It's not your fault that 30 percent of New Orleans lives in poverty or that tens of thousands had no transportation to get out of town. C'mon, they're black! I mean, it's not like this happened to Kennebunkport. Can you imagine leaving white people on their roofs for five days? Don't make me laugh! Race has nothing -- NOTHING -- to do with this!

You hang in there, Mr. Bush. Just try to find a few of our Army helicopters and send them there. Pretend the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast are near Tikrit.

Yours,

Michael Moore

P.S. That annoying mother, Cindy Sheehan, is no longer at your ranch. She and dozens of other relatives of the Iraqi War dead are now driving across the country, stopping in many cities along the way. Maybe you can catch up with them before they get to DC on September 21st.

Are you completely fucking stupid?? 30% of the people of Louisiana live below the poverty level. 50% of the children live below the poverty level. 1 in 7 do not own cars. How the fuck were they supposed to get out? How were the sick and elderly supposed to get out? People like you just need to SHUT THE FUCK UP.

He damn sure wouldn't have waited almost 5 days to feed starving people in his own country. When news reporters are all over a devistated city but the location people were told to evacuate to isn't equipped to handle them you have problems. Their excused are lame as fuck as well.

He fumbled along pretty well during the speech in question. The one that pissed me off was him answering a couple of questions standing in front of helicopters. What a complete tool.

Did anyone hear Bush the other day -- "Don't buy gas if you don't need it."

Who the fuck buys gas when they don't need it? Hmm, my gas tank is full so I'm just going to buy a bunch more gas for the hell of it!

Not everyone in New Orleans is sick and elderly.

If I knew the city I live in was going to have a good chance of being wiped out in a few days, guess who you wouldn't see on the news two days later? Me! Beg, borrow, steal or walk I'd be out of there.

If you're able bodied in New Orleans and you sat around hoping it wouldn't happen, who's really to blame?

Interesting. I think if you drive a car you are fucking dumb. I mean, you have a better chance of dying in a car wreck than if you ride out a hurricane. Bunch of ignorant ass people driving.

Their excuse is the same as those people that live where earthquakes, tornados, and bad people are. They are used to hurricanes coming and their families have been riding them out for decades.

Edit: In fact, is Glasgow still the crime capital of Scotland?? Get out! You've had years of warning!

The comments on this board are unbelievably stupid..
IMO Bush is guilty of failing to provide the necessary help quickly enough, as has been mentioned many times. At the very least the government should have had an immediate emergancy/ contingency plan.
Everyone has been aware of the effect a major hurricane could have had on New Orleans since 1999. The City has consistantly been rufused the funds it has needed to protect itself.

Also, it's a fact that when fuel supply's start to dry up people buy more fuel ( that they don't need) either to sell for profit or use for when it completly dries up. People don't just use the fuel they need for that day they buy in excess..
