I bought my Mom and Dad the same kind of bird, we have an African Grey Parrot that hardly ever shut's up! Super smart bird, but I'am also impressed with this bird...he talks to my Mom and Dad...his name is Dogger!

He says, Dogger go nite nite @ 8pm every night, on the dot!

I am working on teaching him "hello Fred" and I think he is getting "hello" but it could be my imagination

clipping their wings doesnt help i dont think.... they still fly usually, just more controlled when they are unclipped.

Trust me, it works. Before the clipping he got lift, now he doesn't.

When I first got him from Loryn he could fly the length of my house . . . he would not have lasted long with the ceiling fan.

I tried for yrs to get him to say "I love you" one day I said it real funny and loud...thats all it took! BTW: you really don't know the sex of a bird, unless you do the DNA testing...for all we know "Jake" could be a girl, LOL

I love this community (all adult, not just GFY :winkwink: ). The fact that BD was able to help Loryn out AND give her piece of mind that the little fellow (bird, not BD) was being taken care of is just great :)

Fred is anything but affectionate . . . . but we are working on it . . . even if it kills him :1orglaugh
