Because he chose not to waste so much money on a watch. My fiancee purchased a watch for me that was $200 and hid the price from me because she knew I wouldn't be happy spending that much on a watch. It's ridiculous to spend money on one.

Actualy, you pay for the number of complications in a man watch. A watch with lots of complications such as a perpetual calendar with phases and age of the moon, a celestial chart, an indication of sunrise and sunset, a power reserve indicator that alert when your watch needs rewinding and a sidereal time can take years to design and make.

Wristwatches are status symbols. You'll make a good impression with an expensive watch :winkwink:
