I turned 17 that year. I (with much embarassment) can sing the lyrics to most of the songs you have in that list and in fact have the singles or full CDs to a good 90% of the list. Violator is actually in the car CD player right now.

It was also the year I met my wife who I am still with.

The bigger question you should be asking is who on GFY realizes the significant meaning of your name 'NoCarrier'.

I'm betting a lot of people on this board were still shitting in their nappies when that phrase was commonplace. :)

I was older than you in 1991, already in the corporate world. I remember listening to Depeche Mode driving to work one morning of that year.

i was 10 in 91 but i remember those :)

Two years older, in college by that point. And I listened to KROQ, not "Power 106" (So Cal people know exactly what this means) so I preferred so-called "new-wave" music to that "pop" that dominates most of your list.

Unfortunately both would go bye-bye shortly after as horrid grunge shit-rock took over, so it's a moot point...thank god those days are over. :)
