Assault with a deadly weapon as defined above is a felony punishable by imprisonment in the state prison for two, three or four years, or in a county jail for not less than six months and not exceeding one year, or by a fine not exceeding ten thousand dollars ($10,000), or by both fine and imprisonment. |
She should get life in prison... that'll teach those delinquent little shits!

i may have him confused with another kid that did the same except ended up shooting the store clerk. i read an article about ids and criminal behavior awhile back, cant find the url :( but yeah the above kid stiomped a little girl to death, and then robbed stores |
"He added that how you are treated by the police should not depend on whether people have legal documentation to be in this country or not. Everyone should be treated equally under the law."
:Oh crap |

I think he may have his facts a little skewed. As I recall the kid ended up under house arrest, then held up the pizza delivery guy with a gun when he came to deliver the pizza that was ordered. Could be a different guy, but don't think so. |
This story reminds me of a couple stories.
1. One time I was on trial and while the court was in recess I overheard the (female) prosecutor talking to her Asst DA. She was talking about how her 5 year old daughter, in pre-school, had been kissed by another 5 year old boy, and she wanted to go after him for assault. The chick was psycho, and was eventually paid to take an early retirement. 2. Another time I was in court, in Fresno, awaiting trial and was observing the trial of 3 or 4 teenagers that late one night had broken into the municipal swimming pool. The judge threw the book at them. I remember my daughter and I looking at each other when we heard the sentence, and I knew I had my work cut out for me. Moral of the story, don't do the crime if you can't do the time in Fresno. |

Do you even read your own links? "Maribel Cuevas (search) was prepared to face a felony trial Wednesday when lawyers reached a deal behind closed doors that allowed her to escape detention and avoid pleading guilty" ""The simple fact is that we have an 11-year-old girl who struck a boy in the head with a jagged-edged, two-pound river rock, that required him to have stitches," Dyer said. "That is a felony, assault with a deadly weapon, and we are very fortunate that that act did not cause a more serious injury, even death." What exactly do you think should have been done? |
She could of killed him, so what's the problem?

Usually you come off as fairly intelligent, so I have to ask you, what makes you think they were ever trying to get her put away for 4 years? What do you think she should have been charged with? Ever hear the saying, "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words (and water balloons) will never hurt me?" It was assault with a deadly weapon, luckily it was just stitches that resulted. |

Atleast the county prisons up north are not as bad as the bakersfield/LA prisons. :1orglaugh |

absolutely true... sad part is you could change out liberal for merely 'politician' and it would be WAY more accurate... they're all guilty of enacting lame shit on a fairly regular basis... |

I don't think I'd ever want to test that theory out first off...and secondly I bet some of the dudes at "The Q" - San Quentine - don't feel the same way... :/ |

This is the kind of shit that happens when an entire population watches TV all day and doesn't pay attention to what their government is becoming. This is the kind of shit you'd expect to hear in Saddam Hussein's Iraq. |

I am just living there though, taxes are a tad better than Norway. Not to mention the temperature. |

Right, you can't. But call me an idiot and add a " :1orglaugh " to make your dry routine complete. |

If they don't report it, it would be pretty tough to talk about it. But if you expect me to believe that Canada has never charged a minor with a felony you have a tough job ahead of you. |
