Clinton's Begins Crusade Against the Adult Entertainment Industry
"There is no doubting the fact that the widespread availability of sexually explicit and graphically violent video games makes the challenge of parenting much harder," Hillary Clinton
http://www.boston.com/news/nation/wa...ft_auto_probe/ Hillary Clinton is making this public statement in an effort to move to the political center for a white house run in 2008. This public stance against violent video games is just the first stage in a Clinton plan to gain conservative christian votes for the Democratic nominee in the next presidential election... Hillary will be going after online pornography NEXT |
I have to agree with her about the video games and they are not the adult entertainment industry.
|
Bill will not be happy if she gets rid of the porn
|
I completely disagree with her on the video games. They have a ratings board for this exact reason. The board is in place to make sure that video games are rated properly so that only mature individuals get their hands on mature games. NOW with that said... Is it the video game makers fault or the PARENTS fault that the kid can play whatever the fuck he wants as long as he/she stays out of the parents hair?
I am sorry but this is just another excuse for lazy fucking parents who want someone else to raise their kids. Instead of taking the time to actually find out what their kids are into and doing. I don't have any children and for the exact reason that right now I still have too much shit going on for me. Maybe more parents need to take a bit more time to decide if they are ready to be a full time parent before they just go popping out a couple spawns that are raised by TV and the XBOX. |

I concur. Fucking conservative christians and their forcing their beliefs on others thing, it sucks. |

It's one thing when you're moving to center on an issue to get votes, quite another when you truly want to rid the world of porn from the bottom of your misguided heart, lol.
|
We need to stop making excuses and make parents responsible for taking care of their kids as obviously this shit isn't working and things are getting worse and worse.
|
what happened to the parents that should be watching thier kids ?

that woman scare's the shit out of me.

oh please, oh please, would you twit fuck politicians just leave us alone.
your husband cheated on you numerous times, you obviously are not a good judge of morality in people. |
Hilary Clinton's salary is paid in part by porno money.
My porno money that I had to pay NYS tax on |

Making a statement like that is a no-risk, no-brainer for a politician. She has nothing to lose and everything to gain by condemning the recent issue with sex scenes in GTA. You also need to remember that the adult industry has NO friends in politics. Bill Clinton (a liberal) signed the CDA and COPA into law. It's political suicide to support the porn industry. The only friends we have are the constitution and the courts that are bound by the constitution. The best we can hope for politically is to have someone elected who will appoint liberal to moderate judges to the federal bench. :2 cents: |
When she's speaking to a large room of soccer moms and grandmothers, what do you expect her to say?

One thing to remember in all this; Hillary Clinton's book was entitled "It Takes A Village" (the rest of that nauseating old cliche' is "to raise a child"), so extending the responsibility of raising children onto non-parents is nothing new to HC. I don't think Hillary is playing to the conservative Christian right here at all; that would be pointless. That segment isn't going to touch ANY democrat, much less one that is openly and loudly pro-choice. Sadly, what Clinton is reaching for here is the center, the so-called "Reagan Democrats"; I say 'sadly' because it seems pretty clear that many political centrists are just as eager to tightly regulate the video game and online adult entertainment markets as their peers on the far right. - Q. |

So it's paid for in part by the income taxes I pay on my porn profits. :Graucho |
So much for blaming this move on the Christian Right! :1orglaugh
A pathetic attempt on her part to reach the moderate centrists in her bid for the White House.... |

jesus fucking christ, noone can stop politicians bashing on porn and violent games.
in my opinion theyre both harmless, they should check reality and put a stop on the REAL guns in the US instead of this shit, time after time its proven that violent games have absolutely no effect on behaviour of ppl. I love violent games and used to play it when i was a kid and i still play them, the more violent the better , but am i a violent person? Definately not. But hey, very simple one liners that aint true always win it of the research results that makes people think. |

where is all the clinton lovers at in this thread? :1orglaugh Oh god I hope she runs for the white house, this will ensure another democrat loss.
|
well, guess what? in 2008, what choice will we have? I always knew HC was anti-porn, and I can already guarantee you she WILL be the Democrat nominee in 2008 easily..........we have this versus whatever fucking flake the Republicans nominate, who will most certainly be 50X worse than HC.......
the harrassment will continue.........nothing has changed, everything stays the same |
Blah blah blaaaaaah. If she wins, she will get shot anyway.

Thanks, you just saved all those politicians the trouble of campaigning and all the citizens the trouble of voting. :helpme |

Republicans would love to see nothing more than Hilary run for president. Sorry, it will happen some day, but this is not the time and age for it. She will fail miserably. |

failing miserably might be the understatement of the year. unfortunately, she seems to be their msot viable canidate. sad.... |

People are lazy. It's easier to blame unruly kids on everybody else instead of their own parenting. |

Right now the Republican party base is in mutiny. It's not being covered by the MSM but illegal immigration threatens to split the republican vote. Perot in 1992 took just enough votes away from Bush to put Clinton in office. A 3rd party candidate running on an immigration platform in 2008 could take enough conservative votes away from the Republican base to put a Hillary type Democrat into office. There is already the beginning of a serious 3rd party. The minutemen project anti-illegal immigration movement is gaining serious momentum and is already planning to mount a huge offensive in the 2006 congressional campaign. |
Why do they constantly waste their time doing this. Why don't they concentrate pulling the troops back and the deficit. People always to want to butt in and do the extra while spending a shitload on money.

Parents can't watch over their children 24/7 and if on parent does manage to prevent violent games in their house, the kid will run next door to his friend's place and so on. Ratings systems, boards, etc. etc. don't stop this stuff from getting in the hands of minors, period and I actually agree that there needs to be a bigger crackdown. Games are duped, shared, stolen and so on. Eventually, every mature-only game gets into a LOT of kids hands. It's simple: You can't put self-regulation into the hands of the common public and protect yourself by saying "well we put stickers on the games, we can't control what parents do!" The only way is to ban overly-violent, sexual games altogether. (Of course, these arguments all hold true for pornography too, sadly) |
PARENTS need to start PARENTING.
fuck!!!! theres violence on TV too, but theres ratings that pop up in the corner to HELP PARENTS (not BE the parent) figure out what is okay to watch as a family. same thing as video games. if you dont want your kids to see violence in video games, and you are REALLY anal about it, just dont fuckin buy a gaming system. but even if you DO buy one/have one already, how about WATCHING WHAT YOUR KID PLAYS! WHAT THE FUCK IS WITH THIS GENERATION OF PARENTS THAT MAKES THEM NOT TO WANT TO BE A PARENT???? Shit!!!!! We dont need more laws, we need parenting. |
