I completely disagree with her on the video games. They have a ratings board for this exact reason. The board is in place to make sure that video games are rated properly so that only mature individuals get their hands on mature games. NOW with that said... Is it the video game makers fault or the PARENTS fault that the kid can play whatever the fuck he wants as long as he/she stays out of the parents hair?

I am sorry but this is just another excuse for lazy fucking parents who want someone else to raise their kids. Instead of taking the time to actually find out what their kids are into and doing. I don't have any children and for the exact reason that right now I still have too much shit going on for me. Maybe more parents need to take a bit more time to decide if they are ready to be a full time parent before they just go popping out a couple spawns that are raised by TV and the XBOX.

Making a statement like that is a no-risk, no-brainer for a politician. She has nothing to lose and everything to gain by condemning the recent issue with sex scenes in GTA.

You also need to remember that the adult industry has NO friends in politics. Bill Clinton (a liberal) signed the CDA and COPA into law. It's political suicide to support the porn industry. The only friends we have are the constitution and the courts that are bound by the constitution.
The best we can hope for politically is to have someone elected who will appoint liberal to moderate judges to the federal bench.

One thing to remember in all this; Hillary Clinton's book was entitled "It Takes A Village" (the rest of that nauseating old cliche' is "to raise a child"), so extending the responsibility of raising children onto non-parents is nothing new to HC.

I don't think Hillary is playing to the conservative Christian right here at all; that would be pointless. That segment isn't going to touch ANY democrat, much less one that is openly and loudly pro-choice. Sadly, what Clinton is reaching for here is the center, the so-called "Reagan Democrats"; I say 'sadly' because it seems pretty clear that many political centrists are just as eager to tightly regulate the video game and online adult entertainment markets as their peers on the far right.

I hate to say it but she has an excellent chance of winning.

Right now the Republican party base is in mutiny. It's not being covered by the MSM but illegal immigration threatens to split the republican vote.

Perot in 1992 took just enough votes away from Bush to put Clinton in office. A 3rd party candidate running on an immigration platform in 2008 could take enough conservative votes away from the Republican base to put a Hillary type Democrat into office.

There is already the beginning of a serious 3rd party. The minutemen project anti-illegal immigration movement is gaining serious momentum and is already planning to mount a huge offensive in the 2006 congressional campaign.

Why do they constantly waste their time doing this. Why don't they concentrate pulling the troops back and the deficit. People always to want to butt in and do the extra while spending a shitload on money.

In theory, a good argument, but naive. You know as well as anybody that if it's produced (violent games, pornography, drugs, etc.) that kids can get their hands on it.

Parents can't watch over their children 24/7 and if on parent does manage to prevent violent games in their house, the kid will run next door to his friend's place and so on.

Ratings systems, boards, etc. etc. don't stop this stuff from getting in the hands of minors, period and I actually agree that there needs to be a bigger crackdown. Games are duped, shared, stolen and so on. Eventually, every mature-only game gets into a LOT of kids hands.

It's simple: You can't put self-regulation into the hands of the common public and protect yourself by saying "well we put stickers on the games, we can't control what parents do!" The only way is to ban overly-violent, sexual games altogether.

(Of course, these arguments all hold true for pornography too, sadly)
