Florida Internext - hotel info & party schedule?

"Pre-registration for Internext Summer will become available shortly. For immediate assistance please contact Missy Wong at (818) 718-5788 ext. 144 or by email at [email protected]. Thank you for your interest in Internext."

I want to book this but the hotel info and party schedules aren't up yet. Emailing isn't immediate enough. Does anyone have more updated info?

Nah, they'll add a bunch more before it's time for the show.

They always do.

Los Panchos is awesome. Thanks for buying us lunch! :thumbsup

Someone told me that the Westin will be restricting access for people who don't have rooms there. This doesn't seem true. I will probably stay somewhere else at least part of the time so that I can visit my grandmother (she lives in a different town). Will this be an issue?

I know I wasn't the only webmaster to get "dragged" there by Trixie several times during the show to eat! Los Panchos has some good food - carnitas tacos with Jamaica juice... YUMMY!

It's my understanding that you won't be allowed into the Westin w/o a show badge. Not having a room there shouldn't be a problem.

This is in response to everyone not buying Internext passes in Vegas and hanging out at the Manadalay Bar to do business.

The Vegas Internext floor show and seminars were very disappointing in January. The passes were a major waste of money.

Q - Do I have to give you my real name? I don't want it to appear on my badge.
A - We require your real first and last name for identification purposes. Please put the name you would like to appear on the badge in the Handle field of the registration form.

--------------

I did not attend the January Vegas AVN because of how AVN handled the previous show (January 2004 Vegas). At this show they required that models have their real name and stage name on their badges. After a lot of arguing I received a Trixie Racer badge, but I was the last model to get one without a second name.

Considering that we are not even allowed onto Hotel property or into our own rooms without a badge, this is a dealmaker or dealbreaker. :warning
Before I book the Westin and my flight, I want to receive a written guarantee by an AVN rep that models' real names will NOT be made public.

pornguy 06-28-2005 10:02 AM

God I hate that hotel

Best of luck-
It's been my experience that
they'll sell off your email information, and may print your real name on the pass-

You may as well stay at home-
The way they look at people like you , they could care less if you come or not-

U have no traffic ( no offense) and you'll never advertise in their magazine- therefore what do they care if you don't go?

C'mon KB, lets assume for a moment that you're correct.

If people like her DON'T go, the big sponsors will simply stop shelling out big bucks for booths etc, so eventually the cash cow would dry up.

I think anyone with half a brain knows that, so I'd HOPE AVN knows people like her are important.

Tala 06-28-2005 10:18 AM

Los Panchos ROCKED!! Thanks again Trixie. :)

Peaches 06-28-2005 10:20 AM

Don't tell them you're a model. In 6+ years I've never had my real name on a show badge.

Big sponsors are already going to be pulling out of shows like this one after August-
With or without Trixie-

I had some discussions with people in Phoenix and SD and I truly believe this will be one of the last big tradeshows for AVN-
That's my opinion- but I am usually in touch with what webmasters are thinking-and I think I am on the money here-

This is also a big reason you see the desperate and shameless promotional sponsorships being sold at this show in the form of sponsoring toilet paper , match books, and tampon dispensers...

The no booth, smaller conventions are the way of the future and Lensman, CC BILL, and YNOT have this area sewn up

Dude, you say that like it's a bad thing.

I refuse to leave the show unless I've got some tampons sponsored by a porn company.

What is it that you say that you do, then? :error Why don't they put your real name on the badge?

If someone pays for a badge, why do they even need identification? Why can't I pay at the event with a Trixie Racer credit card and be done with it? Why do they gather so much additional information? What will be done with my information later?

I will not be booking Florida Internext until AFTER someone from AVN publically resolves this!

I'm a webmaster! Honestly, I don't know anyone who's had their real name on their badges unless they asked for it. I think one year (and not even sure it was Internext) they had my real name, I told them to take it off and put "Peaches" and it was done w/in seconds. And I use a credit card in my real name :)

Also don't let ANYONE scan your badge and you usually won't get a bunch of crap. I rarely get info unless I've given a business card and requested it.

Rinaldo 06-28-2005 10:50 AM

It's interesting to see what is happening to the shows, several years ago people only went to the big 2... and now it's becoming the other way around.

I still beleive there is a shitload of info to share at the big shows. And a lot more business is conducted at the internext shows as well.

KB you really think this could be one of the last ones?

D-Money 06-28-2005 10:51 AM

Besides the Topbucks party on Friday night, there's no party scene after 8:00 pm.

What the hell will people do at night?

:pimp

That is very different than how AVN treated people in January 2004. That event is why I never pre-register anymore.. :(

I'm guessing one or two more parties will be added to that list.

If not, I'll just sit on the patio and drink beer.

Or I'll clear out the hottub when I go in naked.

Strip clubs get old after 10 mins
My bet is that there will be 6 gay parties
and Topbucks.com will be the party of the INternext

D-Money 06-28-2005 11:00 AM

Just seems strange that the smaller trade shows these days have a better party schedule then the big trade thrown by AVN. Even if people are doing last second parties, Cybernet had way less attendees but way more organized parties.

Why do you think they barely have parties? Just seems strange.

Internext used to be nothing but parties, which is the main reason I used to attend. Now you can walk into the bathroom and see someones name on toilet paper. I guess that's a reason to go this year.

TheGoldenChild 06-28-2005 11:01 AM

maybe Brad Shaw will throw a Cristal party?

So much seems to ahve changed. I had a great time last year, but most of my "great time" comes from being around people I like and admire. I learn a great deal that way.

I haven't the faintest clue as to why everything got a sudden upheaval. I do know that Vegas wasn't as fun as it was purported to be, and I honestly have only one reason for wanting to attend Florida's show, and that's the fact that I'd be seeing some good friends in the process.

What gives? The smaller shows like Cybernet and the Webmaster Access shows are not only informative, they let me network with just about everyone. THAT'S where it's at, the networking and good seminars. I had a ball at Cybernet and learned some interesting stuff at the same time, stuff that I'm putting into practice. :)

AVN, comments?

TheGoldenChild 06-28-2005 11:28 AM

Let's see if this sounds off the AVN b tracker
