kenny 06-25-2005 10:15 AM

Yep. Time to get to winning.

The Ghost 06-25-2005 10:28 AM

Ye of little faith. I worked the numbers and there's a 96% chance the Yankees will make the playoffs.

Sosa 06-25-2005 11:51 AM

Fuck The Yankees

prime 06-26-2005 03:23 AM

Last October choke show
still haunts the Yankees :1orglaugh
Let's go Red Sox !!!

sickkittens 06-26-2005 06:34 AM

Yanks need to get rid of a few guys fast.

Womack, Quantrill, Stanton, Sierra

And they need to get Kotsay and a good starting pitcher fast.

Cannot get rid of Sierra, he is clutch off the bench.

Let's go YANKEES

I'll take Tino off the bench instead. Sierra is done.

sickkittens 06-26-2005 06:39 AM

Sierra has not done anything recently. He has left a ton of guys in scoring position in clutch situations this year. He can't do much.

sickkittens 06-26-2005 06:41 AM

If they grab Kotsay, it will improve the lineup big time.

He is a solid #2 hitter and we won't have to worry about using Womack or Williams in that spot. The 2 of them have not been getting it done. Womack's OBP is horrible, especially for a guy who can steal like crazy.

He came off the bench last week and got a hit.

He is not done, so far this year he isn't getting the playing time he's got the past 2 years. Its hard for anyone to sit around for long streches and not be used.

Yeah, but he has cost them more than he has helped. And he won't see regular playing time. He *may* be good to have if they get to the playoffs, but that's about it.

ChrisExtreme 06-26-2005 06:45 AM

I know Bernie has no arm but he still needs to be the centerfielder. Typical Yankees they screw the home grown player. And what really needs to happen is Torre should be fired.

i agree with kotsay, i was going to say it before i read your post.

I'm telling you he is good to have now but Torre needs to get him into more games.

Yeah, he's done alot for teh team but his arm has hurt them big time. As much as I like him, I think he's only good for a couple games a week.

Another guy who will benefit come playoff time - if they make it.

I respectfully disagree, especially after they go out and grab a centerfielder (like Kotsay). Then Sierra will play only when Sheffield needs a break or when Giambi is in a slump.

Well first off, Sierra doesn't need time in the field. But he should be DHing and pinch hitting more often. They also need to just suck it up and dump Giambi. That's the problem with the Yankees they over pay players and then have to use them.

Giambi is hitting .314 this month. He's starting to hit much better.

Sometimes simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. Seriously though, I get so sick of hearing about the Yankee fans. I know for a fact people root for them because they were the winning team. I've worked with and know people like this. And I live in New England too. It's very annoying.

I'll take that over him batting .200 though. :winkwink: BUt if you think about it, he's not a bad #7 or 8 hitter.

I'm telling you, getting Kotsay could changes things drastically.

Honestly, I can't stand that also. I live in New England as well but have liked the Yanks since I was a kid (early to mid 80's). I would watch them on WPIX all the time even when they sucked.

The same is starting to happen w/ the Red Sox (fans everywhere) - it's just the bandwagon effect. It will never change.

The one problem w/ Red Sox fans is that they worry too much about what the Yankees are doing and not so much what they or other teams are doing. Yeah, it's a rivarly but sometimes they get caught up in that.

Nah, it's all part of the rivalry between the Red Sox and The Yankees. If you don't live in New York or New England you will never understand it. It's unlike any other rivalary in sports anywhere. I was born into it. No one just "gets over it." The rivalry has been going on the past century and it will continue for as long as baseball is around.

It was quite amusing to listen to how bad Rizzuto was.

"Oh, boy, it's a home run! Holy Cow!" "Oh, wait, did he catch it?" "Yes, no"
