Here are a few I have been thinking about, let me know if you think I should buy something else, I?m open to anything as you can see by the range. Again this should be a fun car. :banana

depends where you live and when you'll drive it. if its just for fun id get the Elise or the z4

adamneve 06-21-2005 10:09 AM

first i would take Lotus Elise

eamedia 06-21-2005 10:12 AM

3 series... i don't believe any others are the ultimate driving machine.

Dildozer 06-21-2005 10:12 AM

I'd take the lotus Elise, especially sine it's your third car and you're looking for fun! BTW where's the Z convertible? I love my grand touring roadster, would pick the Lotus if I had a bigger budget and it wasn't my main ride.

flipdowt 06-21-2005 10:12 AM

why not the Honda S2000?

I have 2 hondas (Prelude & Del Sol) and I LOVE both of them.

I already have the Civic Type-R :winkwink:

Sneezy 06-21-2005 10:14 AM

may I suggest you add an Audi tt quatro roadster to your shopping list;
enough horses; well engineered, aluminum body, not overprized; keeps its value
can be driven all year around on paved and unpaved roads.
pick one with the shift peddles on the steering wheel

With the way gas prices are going, I'd say look for something with atleast moderate gas mileage.

:thumbsup

Machete_ 06-21-2005 10:17 AM

BMW 325Ci convertible. There is space -- its good to drive, nice looking and safe

FilthyRob 06-21-2005 10:17 AM

As I've said a fun car up to $40k, anything goes :pimp
I think that the only one over $40k is the Mercedes-Benz SLK 280 Roadstar and it is about $43k :2 cents:

DutchTeenCash 06-21-2005 10:22 AM

noone picks the rx8 I guess but they had a demotour in Dusseldorf last saturday I looked around, was too crowded for a testdrive. Its not that bad actually. No eyecatcher either, but Id take a look anyhow...

howard 06-21-2005 10:26 AM

addi----i have a 95 porsche 993 (mine is in perfect shape--48k miles and bought new) and I like it more than any new 911's. I plan to keep mine forever. I only drive her about 4k to 5k miles per year.

U could get a 95-98 for 30k-40k (us)with less than 50k miles. It will drive and handle 10 times better than anything else u buy and u could sell it 4 or 5 years for now for close to what u payed..

Porsche 993 models---the best 911 ever made . They are bulit like tanks, very minimal maintenance, super fast and handle better than any car made.

Ask Mikey about mine and mine is polar silver which is by far the hottest color and also still looks brand new no matter how old she gets..

Oracle Porn 06-21-2005 10:27 AM

Either the lotus, the bmw 3 series or the mini cooper

personally I'm a bmw fan.

In no particular order my picks.

1) Mercedes Benz SLK but I'd go for the 350 or AMG 55
2) RX-8
3) BMW 3 series

Stay away from anything Girlie or American Made.

I'm really looking for something new, I don't want to start looking for used cars, just to go to the dealership and get one :winkwink:

Hmmm now that I notice you're in the UK it may be more, not sure. Here they're one of the best bang for the buck.
