why not only english? or why not german? italian or whatever? why is it always french?

flashfreak 05-21-2005 12:10 PM

I'm watching it... people say hungary is fav. WTF? it's a 100% copy of Ruslana's song..

Relish XXX 05-21-2005 12:11 PM

The United Kingdom takes the Eurovision very seriously hence why we thought about sending Jordan (Katie Price) over there to sing for us.

flashfreak 05-21-2005 12:14 PM

malta sucked - banalic song... there are 100's like it.. and she's fat which isn't giving her extra points
hungary - like someone said, same style as ruslana

tradition. This program started when "europe" only existed out of seven countries: France, West Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, and Switzerland. And out of that population the majority spoke french. English was only spoken the second year when the uj joined as it than became the second biggest language.

Half the songs sound the same and some are just plain nasty :(

Hmmm...how many of the countries DON'T vote politically? The UK doesn't - let's face it, if we don't win we don't care who else wins so little or no politics involved in our vote. Are any other countries that neutral?

Theo 05-21-2005 12:48 PM

Most countries televote so not much politics involved. Remember the old days?

swedguy 05-21-2005 12:52 PM

Israel sure had some big juggs.

Tim 05-21-2005 12:54 PM

Guilty! :)

flashfreak 05-21-2005 12:55 PM

Israel doesn't. I remember Israel gave France high votes many times in the last years contests :)

polish_aristocrat 05-21-2005 12:58 PM

The televoting seems to make it worse. People in some countries only seem to vote for neighbours or countries they like. In the old days it was bad - these days it seems even worse.

PMdave 05-21-2005 12:59 PM

Whow, Those Hosts Can Scream.

Makes sense to me... cultural differences between Belgium and the Netherlands for instance are smaller than the differences between Turkey and Israel for instance. So it's not because they are neighbours but because they have the same style of music.

swedguy 05-21-2005 01:04 PM

Only thing that's good with the Swedish contribution is the dancers :Graucho

I'd agree if much of the music that gets the votes had a 'style'. However, you'll find much of it with no particular style and certainly not identifiable as being from any region. Not that I care too much I simply find it interesting.

alexg 05-21-2005 01:09 PM

this contest sucks balls

waiting for the voting part

swedguy 05-21-2005 01:17 PM

Germany doesnt' surprise me one bit. Leather, whips and chains.
