Sarah_Jayne 05-17-2005 08:28 AM

btw..have to love how this is on the opening day of parliment too so he couldn't be there

Sarah_Jayne 05-17-2005 08:34 AM

on the Sky news feed there was a woman behind him making insane faces..amazingly she moved and another woman took her place

Tim 05-17-2005 08:36 AM

That one court case I'd like to hear. Mr Galloway is always entertaining.

Sarah_Jayne 05-17-2005 08:38 AM

well...on sky, bbc and no doubt cspan at the moment

Tipsy 05-17-2005 08:41 AM

www.bbc.co.uk/news has a live feed going. He's not happy is he? 'Puppet government' was probably the smallest insult he used :)

SGS 05-17-2005 08:43 AM

A lot of people make the mistake of thinking that Mr. Galloway is stupid and he is certainly not.

Tim 05-17-2005 08:45 AM

I don't think he'll be too popular with the US administration either somehow.

MGPspots 05-17-2005 08:46 AM

Yeah watching it now - great stuff. Hate Galloway but gotta say he's good

The short news reports make it hard to judge the guy. This is proving exactly as you say - he's anything but stupid.

Sarah_Jayne 05-17-2005 08:49 AM

oh, he isn't stupid and he is a fantastic speaker...none of that is in doubt

Hornydog4cooter 05-17-2005 08:52 AM

He is on fox news now. I must say he is well spoken and very blunt lol. I like this guy :thumbsup

I'll second that. Galloway can hold his own, very sharp man.

This is serious box office viewing - i doubt the senate have seen many hearings like this one. Refreshing to see someone go up there talk straight and tell it like it is.

Remember this is the guy that beat the Labour party to a consistituency. Infact one of the only constituencies which wasnt taken by one of the three main parties but was won by his own "Respect" political party.

Whatever you think about what he stands for, he certainly is a great speaker. His winning speech after his victory in the Bethnal Green & Bow constituency was very powerful.

samsam...as per the previous remarks, perhaps you are not sure what he is all about.

oh for sure..you can't doubt he really believes in the things he is talking about...for me he takes things too far but as I can understand why he grabs some people by the balls and makes them listen

Sarah_Jayne 05-17-2005 09:14 AM

well, that was fun

Yes.
Very intelligent man and I would think very manipulative also.
Over the years there has been some real key speakers in British politics and again whether people agree with what Galloway has done or not, you cannot deny that he is capable of destroying people with his communication skills.

It doesnt matter, it was a very strongly held Labour position and its never been done before.

I really dont think he goes too far. Rather, that few people have the balls to be as outspoken as he is because they know that the dissenting view is the one that tends to get trampled on.

I also reckon the majority of the british public, if theyre honest with themselves, share the same position he has on Iraq. It is a disaster, and it has been a huge calamity thats not over yet.

If anyone comes across a video of the entire hearing please post the link

You missed out.... it was very interesting and very funny at the same time.

The best thing was when a reporter questioned him as he was leaving something like "Do you think it was appropriate to call the senator a crazed neo-con" to which he nodded and replied something like "He is a crazed neo-con..." before adding two or three other insults to the list.

Haha... funny bloke.

It seems you can see the whole hearing or at least most of his introduction if you click the video thing on this web page:

I like this guy.
