WTF is wrong with parents these days?

Picture this:

It's 10pm on a Thursday night and a family strolls into a restaurant. The family consists of the Mother, Father, and two children ages 3 and 4.

The 4 year old orders her food and a Mountain Dew. 12 minutes later the food arrives along with the 4 year olds 3rd soft drink.

Now the 4 year old is not eating her food because she is too busy bouncing around the seat, creating a scene, and annoying the people at surrounding tables.

The parents are getting pissed off and yelling at the child which is making an even bigger scene.

Now here's the important question:

WTF is a 4 year old doing drinking Mountain Dew in the first place let alone at 10pm on a school night?

You might as well give the 3 year old some Jolt Cola while you're at it then beat them both for being hyper due to your stupidity.

Some people simply should not breed.

Sly 05-12-2005 11:14 PM

We always had to drink milk or water. If we were out, one glass of soda, max.

That explains why I'm such a fine human being.

seeric 05-12-2005 11:15 PM

hahaha. we should issue licenses to breed.

SleazyDream 05-12-2005 11:15 PM

why not offer the kid a red bull?

it's the parents problem after you leave the restruant

Milk builds strong bones. Water helps keep you trim.

I bet you're a great runner. :thumbsup

Mr.Fiction 05-12-2005 11:16 PM

Is there such a thing as a "school night" to a three year old? :1orglaugh

I haven't had a glass of milk in 7 years. I did make All-State track though.

CDSmith 05-12-2005 11:18 PM

The 4 year old was "expressing" herself at 9:30pm screaming and yelling that she wanted to go out to a restaurant for some mac and cheese.. the parents, not wanting to stifle their little darling, complied and took her out...

There was when I was 3. Fuck if I know how things work these days though.

I take it that you didn't get an early start on education?

BTW....The 4 year old is the one question here.

Clicky_Bucks 05-12-2005 11:21 PM

You didn't have school when you were 3, you pompous fool.

Radical Rick 05-12-2005 11:24 PM

I saw a mom once at a coffee shop asking her 4 year old if he wanted a cafe mocha...then telling him he couldn?t have a chocolate brownie, because that would make him too hyper...wtf!!

mlove 05-12-2005 11:27 PM

Alot of people shouldn't be parents.

This is why abortion should remain legal.

Really?

Then how is it that I managed to break my leg at school in 1977? FYI, I was born in late 73.

The next time you wish to tell me what I have and have not experienced, you may want to check with my parents first. They both post here from time to time so feel free to ask.

I think mt. dew has more sugar and caffine than jolt.. at least that was when I last looked at the labels long ago..

BTW Aaron, you owe me a drink you fucker.. I called you all night with no answer back..

STD 05-12-2005 11:37 PM

Fuck they got restrictions and licenses for everything else... I think there should be a rule about breading... below a certain IQ level and your forbiden to have children. Adam Corrola (formaly of the man show) has been saying this for years and I have to agree with him. If there were rules on who can have kids we wouldn't have problems with neglected children who grow up the wrong way and end up causing nothing but problems... and besides... then we could continue to have sex with dumb chicks and not have to worry about getting them knocked up!

I say If your not a certain IQ level and you have no potential of ever being allowed to have kids (in that society) then we get them fixed and if you got a good body u start to stirp! It would make many fathers proud I am sure!

TheJimmy 05-12-2005 11:40 PM

the amount of dead, processed, shit ass food people feed their children is disturbing too...hell while we're at it the typical N. American diet is mostly crap...

what's wrong with PEOPLE!?

Perhaps you should have checked your voice mail sooner. You were calling the wrong number and by the time you called the right one, I was already asleep and pissed about your no show.

Seems that you owe me a drink. :winkwink:

I fully agree. Let's start with people who can't spell basic words and then have the nerve to mention IQ tests.

KRL 05-12-2005 11:45 PM

Its real simple. No one goes to school to learn how to be married and no one goes to school to learn how to be a parent.

The two most important things in life and we jump into them without any training at all.

Its pathetic.

Wise words, as usual. :thumbsup

i agree 100%!!

theres certain standards & tests and evalutions for people who want to adopt kids, they put them hell before they even THINK about handing a kid over to strangers......they should do the same thing for people who want to become parents. :2 cents:

XPays 05-12-2005 11:48 PM

maybe they were passing through on a long flight around the world and 10pm was really like 12:00 pm for them :2 cents:

Oh really?? My son did. Maybe they do things differently where you're from? Or maybe you're ignorant on the matter?

Lately?

I'm always a dick around these boards.

Perhaps you should come off your cloud one of these days and get to know me in person. :2 cents:

That fateful day is long gone my friend. I have no beef with you. You simply don't understand my sense of humor so you take offense instead of seeing that I'm just playing wit ya.

Lighten up a bit and it's all good. :winkwink:

Beer? :drinkup

Indeed....That I am. :pimp

XPays 05-13-2005 12:14 AM

would you tell the parents that you think it is inappropriate to give a kid mountain dew? that would be some good reality content.

XPays 05-13-2005 12:16 AM

i spoke up to a pregnant girl who was smoking once and that did not go so well..

Anybody who knows me is well aware that I am certainly not beyond doing that. I usually have to reserve those things though for fear of embarrassing the others in my party.
