It would seem as though Webair bought the domain name.

Tango 05-02-2005 12:55 PM

for National Net - the domain would have been cheap enough to pick up - kinda stupid if they didn't :2 cents:

lol that is funny and strange at the same time

WiredGuy 05-02-2005 02:12 PM

I would have thought NatNet would have bought NationalNet.com, only makes sense to avoid confusion. But being bought by a competitor does make things interesting.

SweetT 05-02-2005 02:22 PM

Hey Guys....

I think this is hilarious...but so that there are no misunderstandings, we checked on buying the nationalnet.com domain years and years ago but it was not for sale and it was used by a Canadian guy to talk about his Marching Band so it was not a big deal. If I find that a webhost has bought it and is linking it to a web hosting site well that is a whole different issue that I guess I would need to discuss with my Intellectual Property Attorney's.

But...needless to say we are not going anywhere and in fact we have some very cool announcements coming up when we see everyone is Montreal!!!

they dont monitor a lot of underage sites they host.

i have brought it to their attention. they ignored it.

has nothing to do with webair.

it has to do with shutting down password and underage sites.

If the sites are REALLY showing underage girls, you can contact the correct organisations for that(if natnet doesn't answer you)

They will take care of it. But it's simple. Most looking underage girls are not underage. So legally they do nothing wrong in that case...

See you in MTL T :thumbsup

SweetT 05-02-2005 03:06 PM

I can assure you that noone has EVER complained to us about Lolita sites that we have not dealt with harshly and immediately. We draw a strong line in the sand on that....in fact, we are one of the only hosting companies in the world that refuses to host NN Teen sites even though they were found to be 100% legal in a court battle....it's just not something that I want to be associated with.

As for password sites, I have my guys checking things now, but the only ones that I know that we host are "fake" password sites that have no passwords on them except to fake members area galleries. If a customer has slipped one in, we will deal with it appropriately.

If anyone has any issues with *any* of these types of things that can email [email protected] or they can email me PERSONALLY at tony(DOT)morgan(AT)natnet(PERIOD)com .

i just went to allpasswords.com and got directly into about 5 members areas that were not fake members areas

Trax 05-02-2005 03:30 PM

So Webair purchased NationalNet.com???
:1orglaugh
this is going to be fun lol
I would have thought the natnet crew would have been smarter about backordering that domain name for shabby 5 grand
I am really curious how long it will take for NationalNet.com to redirect to Webair.com
If I would have paid 5 grand for such a domain I would want to get my ROI there.

maybe Mike is going to make a deal with NatNet? :winkwink:

one of the key elements in a udrp btw is bad faith. this is a slam-dunk imho no matter what webair does with the domain. recommend tony buys from webair for $3500 as that is approx what it will cost for him to take it.

My guys looked this up and we have hosted this site for more than two and half years and we have never gotten a single complaint about it.....I just went and looked at the site myself and I dont see a single real site there....everytime I clicked a link that looked like a site that I had heard of it was a redirect somewhere else....the sites where you do get into the "members area" seem to be the ones that were designed to draw the surfer in and keep them clicking (no real substance...pics from years ago...no videos etc).

Now...with that said, NONE of this do I know for a fact...just telling you my take on it. The fake password site has become quite profitable for several of the biggest companies in this industry. They own the content, own the sites, they own the alledged password site...and they draw traffic in and then eventually they get to their pay sites.

Trust me when I tell you that we make our living hosting Pay Sites....if we had a real password site for more than a minute I can assure you that my customers would be all over me to remove it.

I will continue to research this, but the reality is that I dont see a single link on these sites that I recognize that is real.

I will let you know if I find more.

joe e invented the leak and block and clock strategy :winkwink:

people are off topic and webair should immediately dump that domain to you in good faith imho.

Snake Doctor 05-02-2005 05:12 PM

Why build your own brand when you can just hijack traffic from someone else's branding :1orglaugh

What a bunch of fucking losers
