To commemorate this momentous occasion:

A little more than four years ago Lensman brought forth on this Internet a new board, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal, even the Canadians, though not quite as much. Now we are engaged in reading a great board, testing whether that board or any board so conceived and so dedicated can long endure. We are met on a great Jupiter server paid for by that board. We have come to dedicate a portion of our valuable time towards deciding whether or not we would hit it, or giving heartfelt advice to all newbies whether they requested it or not. We will also dedicate a bit as a final resting place for those who died here that the board might live. This we may, in all propriety do. But in a larger sense, we cannot dedicate, we cannot consecrate, we cannot hallow this board. The brave surfers, past and present who struggled here for free porn and acceptance have hallowed it far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note nor long remember what I say here, but it can never forget some of the things that went on here. AaronM's stint in the Mexican jail will long live in the annals of GFY history.

It is rather for us the posters to entertain the lurkers, and call out the idiots, and congratulate those that earn it. We the posters here be dedicated to the great task remaining before us--that from these honored threads we take increased devotion to that cause for which they here gave the last full measure of devotion--that we here highly resolve that these threads shall not have been written in vain, that this board shall have a new birth of freedom, and that if you want a board democracy of the people, by the people, for the people you shall not find it on this green earth."
