Why Should This Kimbo Guy Be So Hard To Beat???
 

Seriously, all this guy has going for him is the fact that he's huge and throws punches like a bulldozer. Any Martial Artist trained with a considerable amount of skills could evade his punches and ultimately just break his knee and he would be down on the ground. Kimbo is a streetfighter and all he's got are his fists, put any skilled MA'er against him and he should be tapping out soon enough... or am I taking this too lightly?

It also seems to me that this guy fights with a lot of rage, I've always been taught that in these situations you should keep your head clear and focused... this is another thing that any MA'er should be trained in right?

To remove any doubt, I'm not even remotely claiming that I could take Kimbo on... the most damage I could do is bore him to death with some legal blabla :glugglug

I tend to agree. Hes tough as hell no doubt. But he got beat in a fist fight against a guy that isnt even a boxer. Any professional middleweight or heavyweight boxer would beat him easy. So why dont people go around posting things like 'oh my fn god evander hollyfield (or any other pro boxer) is the shit'. I think a big part of the mystique is the whole underground thing.

I think it's what he did to that one dude's eye.. He beat the shit out of that guy and was impressive in that fight. However I will agree he didn't look as impressive in this last vid.

i think a good part of what makes everyone say kimbo is so bad ass is that its bare knuckle and jus tin some back yard for the hell of it. and the rage, "thats all you got" etc like someone pointed out above. watching a "sterile" boxing match next to that isnt quite the same..

K-1 is better to watch I think... that backyard shit wasn't that amazing to watch although the guy got fucked up good.

I train with guys everyday that could eat Kimbo for lunch. (MMA: Lions Den/AKA fighters) After watching this guy fight some MMA guys I can tell you his cardio isn't near up to par.

I have to agree with you. I remember when Ultimate Fighting first came out and I saw this small Hoyce Gracie dude. I remeber thinking no way he can beat these other huge brawlers. I was pretty wrong, those guys know how to be evasive and use submission holds that even the strongest guys can't deal with.

exactly, I just watched that fight against Gannon. He totally lacks any form of technique and stamina. Put a small quick dude against him and he can totally wear him out and then finish the job after 7 minutes or so.

Any of the Gracie brothers would fight him for sure.

It's all they do, it's how they came to fame. I train with a Rickson Gracie taught instructor and met Mestre Rickson once. While I don't think Rickson would, I know all the other Gracie brothers and cousins and what not would fight him.

Many others out there I think could take Kimbo as well. Although I gotta say, I'd love to see Mike Tyson and Kimbo square off together.

The third guy from the left and the guy at the very end on the right, I'd put ALL my money down that they'd take Kimbo out inside of three rounds, only cause they'd spend the first two playing with him.

I'd never think of going against kimbo, simply cause I train for self defence and ring fighting. Would I run from him, nope, but I don't train to fight like that. The guys I posted do.

nice demonstration but it doesn't really reflect what kind of damage they could do in an actual fight.
