Why California is better than Florida.

Better weather year round. Less nasty humidity. Better Voting system. Style is not defined by big fruit print button up shirts with matching socks. The term "youth" does not mean 73 years old. Hurricanes are better watched on TV with a cold light beer. Better looking women. Not a haven for criminals and, hate to say it, terrorist looking for a the closest thing to having a non-extradition agreement with the US outside of France. Haha.

Does that cover it?

Also, I might note, we are at capacity here. We are not accepting anymore residents unless you are willing to use public transportation only.

Sorry, couldn't help myself. Saw the homeland getting hassled in another thread. Thought I would bring people back to reality.

I'd take a hurricane over a earthquake any day

fires/mud slides/storms/earthquakes , don't think california is too immune to natural disasters. I would think that South Florida has better all around weather than California. Don't get me wrong, I'd pick any of them.

Better weather?? Haha, i would rather be warned about a hurricane we have some of the best parties of the year and don't have to worry about falling off the map into the Pacific. "did i mention earthquake" South Florida has better tittie bars, beaches, bitches, and blow and did I mention NBA basketball team. Go Heat! Watch the humidity take it to the house. Shaq Daddy" and as for a safe haven for criminals there is more river rats flowing into cali across the boarder that the next big terrorist strike will most likely happen in east La but that is already going on in the west side :1orglaugh LOL

Very cool. Well as you are fully aware, at sunset, there are countless amounts of people with cameras out there.

Oh BT! LOL

1) So Cal has way better weather. You may get warned about hurricanes, but you also had five of them and the largest evacuation in US history to boot. You are suceptible to them every year. We have not had a quake in some time. Actually, to be honest, the natural disaster argument is almost always void. Everywhere has them.

2) Better beaches? Go look at the diplomat. Perfect example of how Florida forgot to regulate buildings on the beach. Seemed like a good idea to put high-rises on the water until afternoon shade occured.

3) Strip clubs. You win.

4) You do not have better women. You just don't. Miami gets models, but Cali stocks them all at some point. All wanna be starletts come to So Cal.

5) The Lakers have more titles than any other sports franchise in the last 20 years. The Heat have none. :)

Have you ever livd through a hurricane? I have been through 4 and I'd be glad not to again. The waiting is the worst part about a hurricane. Earthquakes just happen.

pxxx 04-18-2005 08:36 PM

I will pick Cali over Florida any given day of the week.

J$tyle$ 04-18-2005 08:37 PM

Florida is a great place to grow old and die!

There is no place closer to hell in the summer time!

:2 cents:

I'll take fires, floods, earthequakes, and riots as the four seasons over the sticky disgusting summer humidity and Hurricanes Florida has to offer.

To each their own

:winkwink:

L0rdJuni0r 04-18-2005 08:38 PM

Florida all day for me :thumbsup

You fool!

I love Prague! Man, Prague is better than both of them! Why are you in your room :)

jukeboxfrank 04-18-2005 08:46 PM

CA has only 3 season's
1 earthquake
2 forest fire
3 mud slide

FL has only 1
1 hurricain

CA
house cost 1 and up million

Fl
house cost 1 and up hundred thousand.

Ca gas = 3.50
Fl gas = 2.50

Woohoo BT! Thought I was going to be alone in this debate. I would much rather hurricanes as BT said best parties ever! I dont see any Florida houses falling off a hill..(probably cause even if we had hills we wouldnt be stupid enough to build a house on the side with stilts) And where did Shaq go to from LA again?? Oh yeah MIAMI! woohoo. Oh and lets not forget the beaches.. At least here you can go into the water and not have your dick crawl up inside cause the water temp is 50 fucking degrees! No ocean sex for you guys.. Did I mention smog, riots, traffic madhouse, wildfires, and people that dont know the light on a cop car means stop? :winkwink:

:1orglaugh

Also Micky likes Florida better thats why they have spent 2x as much as the antique Cali version of Disney. And Sport fishing is supreme here.. Ask the people from Cali that come here to fish..LOL

Oh and the Orange thing... At least we don't have cows from Wisconsin moving here to make cheese. :1orglaugh

I've lived in South Florida all my life and Southern Cali for all of a week and a half

.. and as of right now I still think Florida's weather is better, I never minded hurricanes (and I lived through Andrew) I'm waiting to see how bad my first earthquake freaks me out .. Its much colder out here (which I'm sure is an advantage during the summer) .. and hazy .. Florida doesn't ever have haze .. but when the weather is warm and clear, this place is amazing.

.. Beaches .. Florida wins .. hands down .. the Diplomat doesnt count as a South Florida Beach .. Ft. Lauderdale has sand .. doesnt take you 10 min to reach the ocean .. and when you get there .. you can actually enjoy the surf and not get hypothermia by sticking your feet in the water. Plus the water is a prettier blue out there, here its really dark.

.. People .. score one for California .. a big one .. I've never experienced random acts of kindness like I have here. I've been told all my life that people in Florida just aren't that nice, but I never knew anything else, now I can see what they were talking about.

These are just my opinions as a recent transplant .. I'm sure the longer I live here the more I'll grow to love this place. I've been told that the summers here cannot be beat, and I picked up a beach cruiser this weekend so I wont have to deal with traffic or parking when the crowds come.

Florida and California both have strong positives and negatives .. you just have to figure out what you value to choose which, (if either) is best for you.

Cory W 04-18-2005 09:00 PM

Florida has smaller beaches. They have no real surf unless a Hurricane passes.

The water here is cooler but that is what keeps our air drier and less rain.

I like Tampa in Florida, that is about it though.

Cory W 04-18-2005 09:03 PM

And BT's arms. His arms are a positive point for Florida.

He would have a good shot at Governor in California with arms like that.

Kre8t0r 04-18-2005 09:04 PM

To each his own I guess... I wouldn't mind living in Cali just to have a real comparison.. But I think I would be coming HOME soon. I was born and raised here and will probably end it here.. might as well have plenty of company in Boca when I get that old..LOL

kool thread Cory!

hershie 04-18-2005 09:12 PM

Notwithstanding all its great attributes, I just couldn't stand living in FL because of the humidity.

PhillipB 04-18-2005 09:14 PM

This state is the capital of our industry. You Floridians live in the suburbs.

Arizona is better than California. The cost of living here is much better, and you can afford to buy a house instead of dreaming about owning a $500kk condo in Tracy, California, like my mother has.

Also, here in Arizona we have guard dogs to keep the rif raf out!

I couldn't imagine not living on a coast with the ocean close by. If you have that option, why be land-locked.

Exactly! I have thought about living lots of places but without the ocean close by I wouldn't do it!

The cost of living is better in Arizona because you can melt steel on the sidewalks during the summer. There are places as affordable as Arizona here in Cali, but you're looking at either being land locked and/or h-o-t during the summer. Let's face it, the higher the cost of living, the more desirable the area is. I'm not saying "nicer," I'm saying more "desirable."
