i seem to think that from ghost encouter storys (and a couple of my own ghost encounters) that the souls just live on earth with us, but without a body.

just kinda doin our own thing on earth, but just invisable.

I do. Can't see us all just go pass into a state of 'nothingness'.

Perhaps as a form of energy? I lean that way in thinking.

Kinda hard to say. I haven't died yet, I think.
We might have a soul that carries on to the next world, or we might be wormfood. Why worry, it's inevitable anyways and we'll see what's out there if anything.

perhaps. if you think about it, every person is very unique and different, with different personalitys. i think our personalitys are actually our souls.

you ever see a baby that is being funny & smiling away and funny? or a baby that never smiles or crys, just kinda "chills"? thats the begining of their personality. thats not taught, its given to us when we're born.

i think thats the part of us that lives on after our bodys (our "shells" for our souls) dies.

Every single person in the world would go through a "ghost encouter".

There are no such things as ghosts. Its just paranoia. If you tell someone this house is haunted with ghosts they will go in it expecting and hoping to "see" one that they trick themselves into believing that they do.

i didnt say i know all the answers, just expressing my thoughts lol you do make a good point of souls on earth though.

and about ghosts not being real, let me tell you a little story that happend to me about 2-3 yrs ago:

i was staying with my grandparents at the time (was living there for about a year or so when this happend).

One morning, i felt something/someone climb on my bed but i always locked my door at nights (it was an old door, and the only way to close it was by locking it), so i slowly opened up my eyes and i saw this woman (beautiful woman!!) in a white & pink Victorian gown, leaning over me with puzzled eyes ..as if to say "Who are you??"

of course, i freaked the fuck out, screamed at the top of my lungs, she looked so damn real, i thought she was REALLY there! after i stopped screaming, she was gone. vanished. disappeared.

so, i got out of bed, went downstairs and started makin some coffee. told my grandmother (that i woke up from my screaming) what happened, she told me shes seen the ghost before as well, but its been awhile since she has seen her. (probably why the ghost looked at me in the "who are you?" kinda way, last time she was there, i wasnt living there.)

anyways, i tried to find out how old her house was (i knew it was really old, but was curious if it could have been in the Victorian time period). The house was built in 1870. The Victorian time period was between 1837 -1901.

Doesnt make me think at all. Im not saying you made that up, but i still dont beleive in ghosts or souls staying afterwards. Becuase as i said, the world would be infested with them if they were real. In all ghost stories/encounters its usually always been the formor residents of a place and something bad happend to them so they stay back and haunt the place. But where do the other "ghosts" go to.

That is the only point that i have ever thought of. But there is an explanation that doesnt invlove our souls going on to haunt the world.

The reason why I dont beleive in ghosts or that souls and spirits remain on earth is we'd have to be pretty ignorant to beleive only human souls stay here. What about ants? what about dogs? what about dolphins? What about dinosaurs? I'm pretty sure that soemtime in the future (not in our lifetime) we will know exactly how everything works. Untill then, dont kid yourself and think there's some higher meaning to life. Beleive in karma (not as some scientific fact), live your life and try and enjoy it while it lasts.

I believe when you die you are suddenly in a place where time doesn't matter. So in that case we might find that everyone else that hasn't died will be there as well the place will be after averyone dies. So when you die you lye in a state of nothing until the end of our time. This will seem like nothing to you until we all rise again.

Something in the bible says about when we rise again even though I did not get this from the bible.

i kinda feel like my daughter has been here before, cause its like i dont teach her i just remind her, i only have to show her once if i even have to show her, really weird sometimes, i mean she starts up the laptop to watch a dvd and the dvd player as well when she wants to watch dora the explorer and she is only 18 months old

How do you explain that your soul needs a brain to function? Your brain is gone when youre dead...you will have no such thing as a stand alone soul let alone a conscious. Stop hoping dude, its a waste of time. You will die and thats it.

There is no soul after you die because the soul you have now, your conscious and everything you use to think and be is controlled by your brain and as you might know your brain dies when you die.

There would have to be billions of ghosts, actually way more including animal ghosts...there would have to be dinosaur ghosts even. And as of today there is not 1 piece of scientific evidence for it...NOTHING, zero...absolutely nothing. Yet there is tons of evidence of why people think they see or hear or feel ghosts...there so many good reasons what can cause this and its so explainable. But once again, its ignored by the ghost freaks. The live in their sad little world just hoping and hoping.
