I paid close to 2.00 for a head of iceburg lettuce today. It is one of the true indicators of how bad gas prices are effecting shit.

The tank on our Suburban costs about $60 to fill up. My Corvette tank costs about $45... but that's super unleaded.

$2.45 cents tonight in good ole north carolina. Wifes van took 70 bucks and my big old gas guzzling smog infested beast drank up 85 bucks of that good ole texas tea.

I got an explorer so I should consider myself lucky then, lol

My F250 is taking around 60 dollars as well on regular unleaded.

I haven't even busted the vette out yet. Super is expensive as hell.

But you know what they say. Don't play if you cant pay.

They say it will top off at $2.50 for regular unleaded in about month.........geeesh

True, although this is more a question of purchase satisfaction, not much can be had from buying gas, not as exciting as burning money at the mall :2 cents:

All I gotta' say is you know gas prices are completely fucked up when regular unleaded in Houston costs you $2.00... This is the first time we've seen that type of price here ever...

Yes but fuel is what makes our toys run so we have to factor that in.

Back when I started driving I owned a big old LTD ragtop ... gas was like .19 cents a gallon. We all used to chip in 50 cents and drive around town all night.

When we stopped for gas the attendant always checked the tire pressure, oil, and cleaned the windows.

Today at $2.45 a gallon the gas station attendent sits in a tempurature controlled booth and has no clue what a gas cap looks like. Much less how to open the hood.

Thats the bad thing. These high fuel prices have a major domino effect.

Oh, the good old time, I used to have an old chevy van, all fucked up and rusted up, called it the fuck mobile as we put an old sofa in the back, back then it was around 99 cents a gallon and we were complaining already

I still own 3 of those :thumbsup 1 all rusted up (70's style) the other 2 are for traveling. :winkwink:

Only if your stupid enough to buy it from a store. Unfortunatly I do not have a oil rig and reffinery in my back yard like I do a faucet.

It was a 1980 model I think, had for 2 years until the condo commando where I lived had it towed because it had a custam "tagger" paint job, lol.

Those from the US have a way of adapting. I don't think we will see major changes in traffic and peoples mind set until gas creeps into the 4-5 dollar range.

My old Avalanche used to take $78.00. Now it takes $43 to fill up my 350-Z.

That's the economy I guess....

and I think both will go about the same amount of miles on a tank full :Oh crap

I was just in France, almost $6 a gallon and traffic is beyond crazy. Same thing all over western Europe. So, I'm not even sure it will really have an effect, I complain but I still drive the same, and so do most people.
What will happen eventually is that the people who do not have expandable income will start to switch their money to gas purchases and the economy will start to take a dive :(

We use this for camping. Because we like to rough it when camping. 2 tanks 35 gallons each LOL ... when I pull into the gas station the manager sees stars when I put the pump nozzle in it.

72 bucks for the F350 today, mind you its a dually so it gets 10 MPG at best LOL. Seriously though, I can remeber gas being in the 1.20 to 1.80 range for what seems like decades, its obviously not, but its the sharp increase over a short span is what is killin everyone.

Well, the bad news is this is just the start. A lot of changes wil happen in our lifetime in regards to cheap energy based on petrol.

The planet consumes 1 billion barrels of oil every 11 days. We are pumping out way more oil than they can find new reserves of, and with the way India and China are growing, it is only getting worse.

Simple supply and demand, oil is not renewable and moreover everyone wants to live like an American. So, demand goes up , supply goes down - prices rise. A term you will hear a lot of is "peak oil". Well, we have hit "peak oil" production - and supplies will begin going down within 5 years or so, as demand increases from global population growth / Asian economic growth.

Goldman Sachs released this report today, sent prices of crude up big time:
The bank called its forecast "conservative."

my suggestion - get a diesel powered vehicle and rig it to run on vegtable oil. You'll be laughing at your neighbor who is filling up at $10 a gallon in 2010

man stop complaining. It's still chump change compared to other countries. Plus all of you big time pornographers certainly can afford it. I just drove 550+ miles today PLUS had to pay those high ass tolls coming through Chicago. I didn't even look at the gas prices. I just stuck the thing in and filled up my tank as needed.
