i'm totallty afraid of heights but i wasn't afraid in the baloon at all - weird - they are sooo smoot and they rise soo fast that suddenly you're higher than your perception allows you to be afraid - it's not like leaning over a 10 story balcony - THAT's scarry - in the baloon basket you're soooo high - its not scarry - VERY weird but a hell of a lot of fun -
and it's just quiet when the burners arn't on. very cool to be quiet and calm and be at that height. |

i'm so glad you guys had the opportunity to take a balloon ride in arizona - it's the best place for it, and sleazy's right - if you think you're afraid of heights try a hot air balloon ride, it's so peaceful it's hard to be scared.

Nice pix - thanks for sharing.
I especially liked the pix upwards of the balloon. Nice camera work. I did a balloon trip over Napa Valley...it's so quiet except for the occasional burst of gas to maintain bouyancy and stabilize the balloon, although I imagine there were enough of you onboard making noise that perhaps you didn't notice. I've flown in all kinds of aircraft; helicopters are the closest floating experience I have had next to balloons - do hope to someday fly in a glider, and if I get really brave, to try hang gliding. Very nice shots. I am scared of heights though and although you say that it's not scary, those pics looking down would just about freak me out!
