REAL Chinese Shaolin Monks vs. Gracie BJJ students...Who would win?
 

I'm watching a documentary on some Shaolin Monks and they're doing some incredible shit. Breaking shit with their hands and heads and having things broken on their hands and heads...

I don't think that some American white bread Kung Fu student could beat the Gracies but what about these REAL muthafuckas from China? They're no joke.

If the monks don't practise full contact fighting with grappling, throwing, holds etc then I would say definitiely not

If it goes to the groud, shaolin monks would be no match. They would get subbed in seconds.

Shaolin Monks use energy attacks.
They could fuck you up with one hit.

And of course they don't fight. They practice Kung Fu to condition their body and mind.

Ultimately, who the fuck cares? They both have their strengths and weaknesses. And until there's evidence ( like actual matches between the two ), what's the point to speculate?

BJJ was tested out in the streets long ago. Ask Henry Matamoros who was taught by Pedro Sauer who was taught by Rickson Gracie(Undeafed NHB in history).

A striker has a knock out punch chance but it is very unlikey to knock out someone. Knocking out someone is really hard to do. BJJ is more practical in all aspects of fighting. BTW the monks know Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, Wrestling, Lethal Blows, Weapon use and many other forms of combat.

My bet is BJJ over Shaolin Monks in the middle of the woods with no weapons.

This has been tested many times. Kung Fu does not stand up at all in real combat. That is why you never see them in any of the inter disciplinary fighting events. Back in the 70's they sent some people to the event in Japan and being more of a striking competition back then they did very poorly. No reason to think they would do better now.

Once you start training you will know the answer to your question glasshoppa... ground training is proven over and over and over to be the supreme style for actual fighting, unless you're up against some MMA guy who's spent hundreds of hours learning to resist being taken down to the ground.

Most of that shit is fake - boards are already presplit etc, they use the same stuff in TKD schools, and even if you really can break stuff with your head, it's not likely to help. I'm not gonna stand there and let you headbutt me to death hehe

A funny clip I saw once had a guy doing leaping kicks to break boards. He missed the board and hit the guy's hand instead, the board came down and landed on the guy's head and broke cleanly in half lolz
