Nothing bush has done pisses me off more than this Shaivo shit...
A woman's husband, her other half, the man she chose to trust, honor, and love is stating that she doesn't / wouldn't want to exist under those circumstances, and these fuckin dickhead politicians have the balls ignore this? It is none of their fucking BUSINESS.
Bush is saying "It's always better to be on the side of life", but what LIFE is there being bed-ridden for years on end without a functioning brain, so much to the point at which you can't even feed your fucking self. God damn these people are idiotic. |
read before sounding silly.

I found it interesting that Bush passed a law while gov of Texas, which is the total opposite of what he preaches now. |

I wonder if the fact she is a white woman has anything to do with it? Seems to me the only cases the American media pays attention to (at least, this much) is when white, female victims are involved.

This case has been big local news here for years. Over those years, I've seen statements and affidavits from craploads of "specialists" and people claiming to have direct contact with Terri make their way into the news.
Even the local right-wing radio personalities who have been following the case closely (unlike the vast majority of America who is only getting the current propaganda) are in favor of letting her go, although their biggest problem is the method, dehydration. One even suggested euthanasia. Every time the courts are about to pull the tube, the parents make a Hail Mary pass with some "new" thing to drag the poor woman's so-called life on another few months. This shit has been in and out of court for fucking ever, where the fuck have all these grandstanding politicos been? I guess there's not anything else important going on in our country that they've got time to stick their head into CNN or FOX and let us all know how they value this "life" so much. Makes me fucking sick. My Aunt works at Palm Gardens, where Terri was for a while. They've got wings and wings of vegetables, I wonder which will be on the news next? |

Barry Goldwater is SPINNING in his grave. If he could talk he would say " " Ok..he's dead..so he can't say anything, but if he was ALIVE he would say "What the FUCK are you people doing? This is not what Conservatives & Republicans are supposed to be about! We want government OUT of people's lives, NOT sticking their nose in where it does NOT belong!" |

yes....its a waste of time and money.......they could be feeding the hungry and helping childern.........but a vegetable has to get in the way.....sorry to be blunt... but damn..... |
I have nothing against most Americans but the Bible Thumping Red Necks are taking over the place it seems.. I'd be moving the fuck out of there..

From the article I briefly skimmed yesterday I was led to believe that it was the woman's parents and brother who contacted certain polititians and beseeched them to intervene. The husband, after 16 years of having his wife lying there in a vegetative state, had the "plug-pulling" all but a done deal. It is his wife's family who is fighting him tooth and nail to keep her alive, and are the reason why the government is involved now.
As a health care worker for over 14 years myself, I had occasion to look after many such patients. I would say that generally (not always), after so many years of a person's quality of life being so minimal, there should come a time when it is time to let go and say goodbye and shut down the life support. We never starved anyone to death, but ceasing any sort of aggressive life support is often warranted in these cases. |
the constitution lists the right to life first.
not sure why you halfwits think this is a religious or right wing issue. since when has it been ok to starve someone to death because another person said it was ok? |
Why hasn't Michael Shiavo allowed her to be filmed for the last 2 years? Her family claims she is capable of more than he does. Send a camera and a medical expert for both sides in and let them prove their point. The judges that have ruled in her case(s) have never visited her to see for themselves what her condition actually is.

Now.. I'm not being cynical.... BUT...
Why the fuck was there so little consideration to "pro life" when George decided he needed to go to war and kill over 100,000 Iraq people plus US forces and others in the "coalition of the willing"?? This was based on the claim of WMD with either nothing or lies to support it. Why did that Governor of Texas assume and lay claim to "not one of those executed was innocent of the crime"? He don't know this, but still managed to execute as many as possible in his reign there. Pro what?? :-) It hard now to think that the efforts on behalf of Terri are other than political bullshit and hypocracy to simply "face" minority groups with pro-life beliefs. Most leaders and the general public are pro-life - the difference is, they don't keep talking about it. |

I guess he doesn't have much respect for the "RULE OF LAW" and the "SANCTITY OF MARRAIGE" :) hahhaaha, fuck I had to say that....George "Irony" Bush hard at work again... but honestly, to err on the side of life isn't a bad argument...this situation is kinda a tough call no matter what way you go... |

Also.. there are some very strange affivavits from nursing staff and others concerning the health and treatment of Terri Shiavo and the conduct/instructions from Michael Shiavo over some years which give rise to other concerns. Something stinks someplace - it just don't jell. |
Bible thumping rednecks founded America.
