Anyone hiring? I'm looking for work.

Let me tell you what I do and you can see if I'm worth the consideration.

I have been a writer for the industry for several years, (started in '01
doing that), and have met and mingled with some of the industry's finest. I
have good contacts, but there's no such thing as THE contact list. That's
why I love to go to shows - I'm constantly expanding the list that way.

I talk, I mingle, I network my ass off. I'm hard to miss, not only because
I've taken the time and effort to make myself well-known, but also because
it's hard to miss a tall, BBW redhead with hair almost down to her waist. I'm
easily recognizable and know my way around a convention floor.

To be honest, I suck at internet marketing. I couldn't sell space heaters
to Eskimos. But you get me face to face with someone and I'll not only have their business card, but also an invitation to contact them on the
back of the card. I also have this thing with incredible ideas that just come up at random times. I'd like to give those ideas to a company that could use them.

If you need someone to use her brain and her personality for your company,
let me know. I would love to help in any way I can.

References upon request.

Thank you. :)

FunForOne 03-11-2005 07:06 AM

oh oh, I guess that thing you were waiting for didnt come through.

sorry to hear that. You sound like a real "go getter". I"m sure someone could use that in their company.

I wish I was in a position to help you, but I'm not.

I'm not sure if your looking for a real world gig or not, but a lot of people come to me for help with creating a resume. If you need help with that, let me know.

I'm hoping someone picks you up before that!

Good luck,

I get it. I often get confused with the world outside my door and the one brought to me inside this screen sitting on my lap. One of them makes me happy, the other one beats the shit out of me.

I dont want to those worlds colliding.

I should have said that different.

How about: "mainstreme brick and morter sales positions" as opposed to the lovely place that sits on my lap.

I understood you. I sometimes think of it that way as well.

Tala, with your talent I hardly think you can't market. You just have to decide who to market to - is it direct to surfers or direct to other marketers/webmasters/affiliates that you want to work with? If it's the latter, there are some real marketing geniuses in this business that don't exactly want someone to tell them what to do, they'd rather have someone who can get things done for them - some just want an unbiased opinion and others to be their voice to get what they want/need to bring more business to the company you represent.

I'm not worried about you - opportunity will be knocking on your door soon! :)

Thanks Brand0n,

Did your friend show any interest in what we talked about a few weeks ago?

Thank you Trixxxia. I appreciate the encouragement. One of the things I forgot to mention, (it's 8 am and I haven't had coffee yet), is that I love to learn and am willing to learn. I'm also learning to unlearn, if that makes sense.

One of the things that gets me, though, is the companies looking for "affiliate managers" are actually looking for sales people. To be an affiliate manager is, IMHO, to assist affiliates, both new and those who have been affiliates for a long while. There should be a distinct difference.

Again, thanks Trixxxia. :)

Tala 03-11-2005 07:38 AM

Just keeping it up top.

I think folks look at "account managers" and "affiliate managers" as one and the same..and maybe thats true with some...however there is a difference, I think :1orglaugh

At least with us, I am the only affiliate manager and then we have account managers [sales reps].

Anyhoo Tala this is a bump for you, and may you get the best opportunity you ever had....I know you will!
