What's Some Food You Haven't Had In Years But You Are Craving?

this happens to me alot - food i forget about and haven't eaten in years then all of a sudden i start thinking about it and it begins to obsess me until I have to get it or get somebody to make it for me.

right now i have two foods i haven't eaten in years and years - French toast and sloppy joes. I'm taking care of the sloppy joes, i can make that no problem.

Brujah 02-25-2005 03:43 AM

I made some Pinto Beans the other day, or as my gramps called it " soup beans " with cornbread. Go figure. It'd just been so long since I had it, that I wanted it. Not that I'm normally crazy about it in the first place.

They sell cotton candy at the local grocery and it's all I can do to walk past it! It's more dense than what you get at the fair, but still a good "trash food" fix :)

Sly 02-25-2005 04:14 PM

As I read the thread title I immediately thought of sloppy joes. God I love sloppy joes.

candyflip 02-25-2005 04:16 PM

My mom used to make spaghetti squash with tomato sauce. It's a real squash that you have to scrape out the fibrous vegetable from inside. It has a texture like spaghetti. Yummy!

I eat seasonally so I am always looking foward to something. Shortly it will be strawberries in the late spring and then the first of the early summer tomatoes.
Both items I can not eat out of season.

Every so often I really crave a chili dog with mustard, cheddar, and onion.

Stamen 02-25-2005 07:09 PM

Those chalupa boats from elementary school.

Yummmmm.....I'm a berry fiend. Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, huckleberries, cherries, apricots, peaches....YUM. Fruit salad!!!!!

Tomatoes rock too. Fresh off the vine with a little bit of salt. :)
