Ok, I am a typical SoCal crybaby. But this rain situation

is getting ridiculous. I realize every 4 years we get this El Nino deal, but this is annoying.

This morning, they put the flood signs back up in Newport Beach, outside my apartment and sporadically along the 405.

This is ruining my tan. Not too mention the beac- hood is no fun right now. Girls are covered up.

I feel like I live in Seattle or some other inferior city.

sickkittens 02-18-2005 12:30 PM

How warm is it there now?

I don't know. I spend most of the day inside crying over the situation.

I am trying to figure out a way to build a heated arc with HDTV.

TDF 02-18-2005 12:32 PM

cayne 02-18-2005 12:33 PM

Newport, isn't that the place where O.C. California is playing?

Tom_PM 02-18-2005 12:33 PM

wah wah wah :winkwink:

But seriously.. we got about a foot of snow overnight here, and it's drifted up on one side of my car to the bottom of the window.. :waaaaahh :waaaaahh

Might as well. Someone needs to stop global warming. I am about ready to go visit the glaciers myself and beg them to stop melting.

I'm avoiding driving through Laurel Canyon incase a house falls on my head... Like the Wicked Witch of the West!

Cory W 02-18-2005 12:35 PM

If this continues, I am buying Chopper a mini-parka and moving in with Toolz in the frozen tundra.

At least it isn't flooding.

Aly,

seriously, I would prefer we have another earthquake than all this rain.

sweetME 02-18-2005 12:36 PM

I'm really sick of rain and these floods. I miss warmth and sun.

Morphius 02-18-2005 12:38 PM

I used to live in Kansas.

I despise snow and ice to this day. I am one of few surfers that refuse to go snowboarding because of that white chaos.

D-Money 02-18-2005 12:40 PM

I just called the rain G_ds, they told me to fuck off.

It's gonna rain all weekend.

Fuck!

Toolz 02-18-2005 12:41 PM

Move to Kalamazoo, you'll enjoy year round lack of sun, intermittent snow followed by 50 degree days.

This is terrible.

I am going to buy a galoshes today. I will pick you some up, what is your shoe size?

The Stickman 02-18-2005 12:42 PM

Move to FLORIDA!!!

It's 78 degrees and blue skies.... :thumbsup

I guarantee Californians drive better during a bloody earthquake than they do in the rain! :upsidedow

Kimmykim 02-18-2005 12:42 PM

This shit sucks. What was supposed to be a lovely weekend racing catamarans off the coast of Long Beach is now going to turn into a fucking cold, wet and miserable two days of slipping and sliding around on deck, hoping that if I slip and fall overboard I can get my boots off before I drown.

Tom_PM 02-18-2005 12:43 PM

Kansas? Yeah Kansas gets the extremes of summer and winter..I have some relatives there.
Here in upstate NY it's mostly winter, spring, fall, winter.. And when Canada sends it's cold wind over the lakes.. forget about it. I can almost see across the street at the moment.

DO be awfully careful babe. Are you sure it's still on? It'll be pretty choppy out there I think. At least wear sensible shoes... no 6 inch heels on deck this week, okay?!

Since January 1, we have had more than double the amount of rainfall as Seattle. If I wanted weather like that I would live in Seattle.

Fuck, even ducks fly south when this kind of weather shows up.

Don't get enough what? Rain? What do we need rain for? You have a wheat field or something?

I never noticed an influx of farmers moving to LA. Did I miss something?

LOL, the Pacific hits 70 or so for a week in the summer maybe. The rest of the time it's cold. So, if it's 60 degrees, raining, and the water coming on deck is 60 degrees (which is somewhere near accurate), you can actually get hypothermia without even falling in the water.

It's not the ambient air temperature, it's the fact that you're soaked :)

But yeah, 60 degrees for the high is cold as fuck to me. I'm still trying to get used to it, I spent 4 years in Arizona, where the low might be 60 ;)

badmunchkin 02-18-2005 12:53 PM

yea, I've been in Los Angeles for the last 2 weeks & it's raining like FL :( :error

baddog 02-18-2005 12:56 PM

I am just glad I got two cords of firewood delivered last Saturday

Cushions are done, but I've left the rest for the time being. Race seasons starts this weekend and I'd rather be sailing on someone else's boat right now than doing wiring and shit on mine ;)
