I hate to sound racist but...
 

it seems as though every friday (not any other day) - that there are huge flocks of black teenagers who like to frequent our local mall. now, on the surface there is absolutely nothing wrong with this. however, it's pretty much well known to the community, that you avoid going to the mall at all costs on fridays not because there's a lot of "black" people there - but because of their attitudes.

Me n' my gf had to go to the mall last night to get my dad something for his birthday and unfortunately, last night was a friday night. So the first thing that happens as we walk in, we're greeted to the sound of what appears to be loud yelps echoing in the huge mall halls - initially without thinking I thought it was some type of wild animal they had on display, but a few seconds after we learned that it was our fellow african american patriots making strange noises for whatever reason - we don't know, we're white, the anxiety sets in knowing we have to make our way through this..

So continuing on, being sure to keep eyesight straight without regard that we're uncomfortable (as if this were a dark new york alley at 1:00 AM), we pass a small group where one intellectual decides to stout "DAEEEEEEEEMN" in reference to my girlfriend - I of course have to look back and give him a bit of stare to show that I cannot be dominated easily - although I must keep in mind to be subtle about this as they like to attack in groups, fortunately I executed it perfectly.

We then reach a customer support desk (I was getting my dad a gift certificate) and the teller is an old cheerful lady who seems to love her job. Shortly after our arrival we're greeted by a group of our dark skinned friends, particularly a male & female who are having a relationship dispute. The dialogue went something like this:

"What nigga? Fuck don't even start wit me"
"Fuuuuck (in destress I assume), you gotta always be fuckin naggin me'"
--(and then the female starts repetitvely yelling "What?" in the male's face)--
--his dialogue during this repititious language:
"Fuck ya'll, shit nigga" and a bunch of other dialogue I couldn't understand, my ebonix isn't very good. This continues on for about a minute, 60 seconds is fucking LONG. All in front of an old grandmother'ish lady...

where the FUCK is the respect at? where the fuck do these people learn their manners from? I thought overweight black woman were good people who taught their children well.

now i'm sure there are white people who are just the same, if not worse. but the black people who attend the warren ohio eastwood mall on friday nights seem to be nothing but low-grade human beings. oh and I forgot, don't even BOTHER seeing a newly released movie on a friday night, they come in by the dozens and produce more dialogue than the movie stars - and louder, too.

Now I'm not racist, I know a few black people who I'm proud to call my friends, but seriously, bill cosby was fucking right when he recently addressed the issue of the overwhelming majority moron black teens. Who knows, perhaps in some other state there's a black person ranting on about how the local hillbilly redneck teenagers seem to be so classless and uncivilized.

Of course I'll be tagged as a racist for saying this, but it's not just Warren, Ohio - it's like this everywhere I go. I find it very discouraging also, you're not alone.

Well when i was in school i didnt like this group of 4 asian kids in my class cause they were just so annoying but just because you hate more than 1 person of the same race that doesnt make your racist. IF those kids weren't acting like idiots you'd have no problem with them being there if they didng bug you

Same here i dont mind there are black or muslim people where i live, though they dont know how to behave civalized, there's where all my friendlyness disappears. Wherever they are, there are loud shouting, pointing and aggressive manners.

But I do understand where you're coming from. There used to be a mall around here where you had BETTER be out of the mall by 7pm or you'd be shoulder to shoulder with every nigga in town.

I live an hour away from you and I know for a FACT that Warren is definitely racist and there isn't shit for young people to do except go to the mall. And the fact that your neighboring city of Youngstown, which is prediminately black and which is probably the city where the customers are coming from, has no infrastructure of it's own. I know that I can't even find a HOTEL ROOM in Youngstown. I must go to Warren if I want to find anything.

But I am glad that I read this post because I wanted to know where the young hoodrats of Youngstown hang out and now I know. Would you like me to drive up there and escort you and your girlfriend around the mall next time so that you're not bothered?

It's because their fathers and quite frequently their mothers were not present during their upbringing and have had 0 disipline in their lives. It's not just a black thing either, plenty of caucasian kids are the same way. It's sad.

I don't think that how you stated this whole situation in the mall you are a rascist at all. If it's a known problem, the mall owners or city needs to take action.

At least here in Holland grouping is not allowed, yesterday they wiped a train station / shopping mall in the middle of Holland clean because of Morrocans intimidating the shopping audience.

a very sad but statistically significant clue to one aspect of the problem...and as BVF mentioned, the same would hold true for under-educated, socio-economically challenged youth of any race...

I can kinda see your point as when I was younger I had the same feelings towards Asians (since there are very few blacks where I am from but there are large groups of Asians that hang around certain areas that speak and laugh in thier own language :eek2 ) I used to feel very uncomfortable whenever I walked by as they talked and laughed (Now I realize that it was my own sense of insecurity and not them at all).
As you grow more open minded(hopefully) you will realize it is just your fear of the unfamiliar that makes you feel slightly bitter towards them.

So suck it up and give those brothas a chance.

BTW You would not have said " a flock of WHITE teenagers" ; you would have just said "a flock of teenagers" so just admit you've got a slight streak of racism (its the first step :1orglaugh )
