Have you ever cashed in a cheque? Or converted money at a bank?

You obviously are missing the point. Is it really OK that a company TAKES money that they have ALREADY taken their fees out of? This wasn't the normal FEE that epass takes...it was already in the account and had already been processed by epass...they had already taken their cut.

If I didn't already own the money, then yea, I have to pay an exchange rate, but I OWNED that money. They stole that money.

When you exchange currency, the bank or money changer always makes a percentage. It doesn't matter if you "own" the money or not.

If you have money in a bank account, and you change it to foreign currency, your bank makes money off of you for that. Banks have different sell and buy rates.

I don't know where you're from, but at least in Canada that's standard practice. I'm fairly certain the same thing applies to the US. Sucks to pay charges though.

Exactly. My Epassporte and Paypal accounts both have a crappy exchange rate when I withdraw from an ATM. Hell, my business US dollar account at the bank down the street has a disappointing rate. You'll get this anywhere.
