so how many and which bones have you broken?

i'm proud to say i've never broken a bone, although tonight I just had my first sprain (ankle) while being a jackass and jumping over a couch to travel a shorter distance....

unfortunately human nature (arrogance) must be tamed by the inevitable.
(..damn that was a good thought)

broke my growth plate in 9th grade skiing, almost had to wear one platform shoe to keep my feet even on the ground. thank god it healed right.

thumbsdepot 01-13-2005 10:42 PM

Last April I broke my left wrist in 6 places and the doctors had to put a metal plate in my wrist to keep it stable. Now I owe about $40,000 (no medical insurance) but the good news is that I can hit better golf shots :)

D Flower 01-13-2005 11:53 PM

The only thing I've broken was my nose playing volleyball. Boy, did that hurt!

XpressMedia 01-13-2005 11:54 PM

I broke my left foot one time. and that was it.

flashfire 01-13-2005 11:54 PM

ankle twice...still hurts sometimes and that was when I was 7 and 9

PenetratinP 01-13-2005 11:59 PM

I never broke a bone.....but I did dislocate my shoulder 7 times during college.

No...I wasn't playing sports. The first time it happened was during my freshmen year at a party doing drunken wheelbarrow racing.

I wish I had a better story. :(

After that it was real easy to pop out and even happened once in my sleep. I drove myself to the hospital at 4am.

I had surgery after I graduated college and now I'm good to go. :thumbsup

Vitasoy 01-14-2005 12:02 AM

I don't think I have broken any.

pushpills 01-14-2005 12:20 AM

broke right thumb 2 times
broke left thumb 4 times

broke right collar bone twice
broke big toe on right foot once

broke right wrist once

broke my nose once

broke ring finger on left hand once

hrmmmm i think thats all...
but we only talking full fractures?

I have a much bigger list for the other torn ligaments, tendens, etc... hell, have had 11 concussions....those are fun...tore 5/7th of MCL, 4/7ths of LCL, and 2/7th of ACL in rigiht knee, all in one play..., blew rotator cuff in right shoulder--resultin in permanent / hardened muscle spasm build-up, serverly torn hamstring--torn muscle folded into pocket of dead tissue...still there today / never removed.....

can't think of more, but don't feel like typing nemore :)

I might have you beat FF;

- all knuckles on my right hand
- right wrist (2 bones)
- left wrist, twice
- left elbow, twice
- 2 knuckles on left hand
- left clavicle
- right tibia
- right ankle (tibial plateau, actually)
- right knee (ACL/MCL tear)
- several bones in my left hand (palm)
- left ulna and radius (compounded)

Most as a result of motorsports (motorcycle racing, snowmobiling).

Breaks and Fractures:
*Broke Left Hip in 3 spots, also dislocated it (stupid sexy convertible with 5 chics hitting a tree).
*Fractured Clavicle, also dislocated.
*5-10 broken toes (stupid sexy soccer).
*Broken nose 2 times (stupid sexy volleyball).

Non breaks but still pains in the ass:
*Left need sprained twice
*Large laceration spanning the legnth of my shin (i have a freaking long shin!).
*Large laceration resulting in ligament tear on knee.
*2 major lacerations on my head (my bicycle their car... ouch).
*4 concussions (wake boardiing, soccer, 1 car accident and 1 bottle break to the noggin)

Sadly enough their are many more decent cuts, back sprains and all that jazz, just too much to try to remember and type... not to mention i am trying to forget :upsidedow
Cheers!

fktup 01-14-2005 11:49 AM

I don't know if I can top all those, but I got a few...

right middle finger in 6th grade
left hand in jr. high - I hit a car door
skull fracture in high school + stitches & memory loss - bike wreck.
jaw fracture - bike wreck
broken back - motorcycle
fractured tailbone - skiing
misc toes over the years. Not much you can do for them, so I stopped going to the doc.
ribs - more times than I can count - mostly skiing
skull fracture & piles of stitches - smashed my head in to a rock wall when I crashed on my girl's birthday. She got to ride in the abmulance & blare the siren while the EMT's sang happy birthday to her.
shoulder dislocation - bike wreck
elbow dislocation #1 - climbing
elbow dislocation #2 - bike wreck
elbow dislocation #3 - bike wreck (this one resulted in shattering the end of my radius & I had to get it replaced with a titanium prosthetic.

I'm probably forgetting a few, but...

Over the course of all this, I've come to hate two things..
1. waking up from being unconcious & having no idea what happened
2. rehab

Mefo 01-14-2005 11:50 AM
