my mom has just been diagnosed with pancreatic and liver cancer

Just got off the phone with my brother (he still lives in the same city as my parents). Does not look good. She had previously been through breast cancer, and survived (outlook was very bleak several times though). This looks much worse. Guess I'll be heading back home sometime this week. I was hoping 2005 would be a better year than the last... such is life.

Furious_Female 01-10-2005 03:17 AM

Oh no :Oh crap that's horrible. All the best to her.

DarkJedi 01-10-2005 03:22 AM

C_U_Next_Tuesday 01-10-2005 03:24 AM

Furious_Female 01-10-2005 03:27 AM

I give to www.cancer.org when I can - just a reminder to everyone, please give if you can. Cancer doesn't discriminate... we're all affected by it in one way or another. People are beating it more and more everyday, and I believe one day, perhaps in our lifetime, they will be able to cure it.

Kevin2 01-10-2005 03:28 AM

Sorry to hear that and I know just how you feel right now because my Mom has bladder cancer :(

sorry to hear that quiet. been there, a two year journey through cancer hell with my dad that ended the way u fear it will end.

i really don't have much good to say about doctors - nurses on the other hand, very special people.

Hey Quiet,

I am truly sorry to hear about your mom. My father was diagnosed with liver and lung cancer almost 6 years ago. He was able to beat it using conventional as well as holistic medicine. If I can help you with anything, please let me know.

Dave

I am very sorry to hear about your mother. My mother had the same diagnosis a few years ago, so if you want to talk about the condition, my ICQ is 96259431.

StuartD 01-10-2005 06:09 AM

Sorry to hear that man... I lost 4 family members in 2004 (3 of them to cancer) and I have 2 more family members very close to leaving as well (1 because of cancer).

Granted, they're not quite as close as my mom is, it's still not the easiest thing in the world to deal with.

You've got my sympathies man.

duca 01-10-2005 06:22 AM

maybe this will help your mom.

Quiet, I'm really sad to hear this - all the best to you and yours. Hopefully your mom is strong enough to overcome this. Payers are with her.

Sorry to hear that quiet :( This probably sounds very callous, but at least she knows she's sick and you can take advantage of knowing and spending as much time as possible with her.

Best of luck to your family!

NickPapageorgio 01-10-2005 07:48 AM
