A Salute To Our Military Men & Women (pics)

A lot of people here bash the United States Armed Forces. But I hope this is one time when you can see these young soldiers do a lot of good things for the world also and these dedicated troops really work hard as hell serving our country and others.

Much respect from this Canadian....

pornguy 01-03-2005 10:37 PM

All I see in those photos are the US invading another country.
At least that is the response you will get from some of these idiots.

Nice photos.

Sly 01-03-2005 10:38 PM

Bring on the hate.

I never stopped saluting.

r3ap3r 01-03-2005 10:43 PM

Great photos. American troops in action.

Rorschach 01-03-2005 10:47 PM

I guess it makes a break from killing civilians.

Workshop_Willy 01-03-2005 10:54 PM

Been there, done that. I've been spat on, I've fired in anger, I've done humanitarian duty. US Troops are no different than any troops in the world, really -- young men and women like you and me (used to be) who are there to do their jobs, whatever those jobs may be. It always feels better building something and helping others. But they're not evil. The military doesn't inject secret syrum into soldiers which turn them into automatons bent on global domination. They're mostly just kids, just like any other except that they are called upon to risk their lives.

Hats off to the young service people from all over the world who deploy into situations they may not even fully understand to do jobs that may not at the time even make that much sense. They go anyway, and they keep going at their nation's behest be they American, Canadian, Poles, Germans, Japanese, Russian, or any other free nationality.

Webby 01-04-2005 03:53 AM

Got respect for anyone who helps these people!

Tho why the fuck only US troops have been mentioned - hell knows.

There were other countries/organisations on the scene helping within a day or so - it took almost a week for US troops to come along, tho that ain't their fault.

It was Rice who made the statement, "The US military is trained to kill and that's what they should be doing". The scum bitch needs to serve and see what it means :-)

It is good to see US soliders engaged on something other than offensive actions - makes a change!

blazin 01-04-2005 04:32 AM

Its sad that its takes a disaster on this scale for the world to embrace each other and finally help their fellow man.

Toni_N 01-04-2005 05:39 AM

Respect.

ezrydn 01-04-2005 07:19 AM

It was commented above that it "different" seeing US troops doing humanitarian stuff. My friend, US troops do that stuff every day and you have no clue. Even in the midst of combat, a GI will go out of his way to "assist" a national in need. You just don't always have photogs around to document it.

My other brothers in arms here know of what I speak. The "killing" is usually "by order." The "saving" is a personal decision that occurs each and every day, all over the world. Sharing a meal with a child, carrying papasan to or from the chopper, moving a family out of harm's way. It's not all "cops and robbers."

To my military brothers here, Welcome Home. To my Cav brothers, Garry Owen.

Bear in mind most of these folks that got abused, were the abusers of the people under Saddam. Karma has an interesting way of balancing things out in life.

gornyhuy 01-04-2005 08:13 AM

OH man.... this thread is going to get ugly I think. :error
