Girl Missing in Cali - Please Help

Some of you may know Albion7. His daughter, Courtney, 17, went missing on December 30, 2004 in California.

Due to her age, the California Police are refusing to put out an Amber Alert and are grouping her as a 'runaway'.

This girl has a 3.5 GPA, has a good relationship with her father, and there were no arguments prior to her disappearance.

Unfortunately, her age doesn't go over well with local police, and doesn't have the 'pull' that 'older' folks who go missing have. Basically, the system sucks.

I am here to request any help we can get.

Albion7 has put up the following webpage to help get his daughter back.

http://www.s92509937.onlinehome.us/n...alifornia.html

I would be most grateful if those of you who can....put the link up on your sites using the following text: missing_child_california

Also, if you live in Cali and have any 'contacts' who may be able to help, we would appreciate it if you would speak with them as well.

I can only imagine the pain he is going through not knowing where his daughter is.

I have seen the compassion and extension of a helping hand here at GFY before.

If you can help in any way, we would be most grateful.

Thanks guys.

I'll post this up on our Northern California message board.

NaughtyRob 01-02-2005 12:10 PM

Damn, that sucks. :(

gigi 01-02-2005 12:11 PM

Thanks Georgio...much appreciated. :)

This is some scary shit right here. Don't live in Cali but good luck.

Usually not very good news when someone this age vanishes with that kind of background.

Wow, kudos to you! We do sense the worst given her history. But, it would be wonderful if the scenario played out that way.

baddog 01-02-2005 12:22 PM

A 3.5 GPA should have enough sense to not hitchhike, hope it works out for her.

Surely they allowed a missing person's report to be filed.

Persius 01-02-2005 12:24 PM

:S

bump for a good cause

webair 01-02-2005 12:26 PM

Yeah, but teenagers will be teenagers.

Yes, I believe they do have a missing person's report filed...however, the report says she is a 'runaway'....and her father swears this is not the case. :(

Not true. You've never done stupid things when you were younger?

BlueWire 01-02-2005 12:33 PM

I just went through this recently with my Mother....it turned out she had taken her own life in a motel room.....You will be in our thoughts and prayers here...I hope this has a better outcome than mine did....Good luck and i'll try to put a couple links up...

iwantchixx 01-02-2005 12:33 PM

is it possible that she's just gone on a new years bender? is that of character for her? Girls aren't always as settled as their parents think sometimes.

Hopefully that's all it is and she will be back home soon.

chase 01-02-2005 12:33 PM

Have him contact the Center for Missing and Exploited Children-they are a great organization and may just have the pull to light a fire under the local law enforcement's asses.

It would be nice if this is the case.....keeping our fingers crossed!

KRL 01-02-2005 12:40 PM

A pretty 17 year old girl hitchhiking in California?

WTF? That's about as sure a recipe for disaster as one could think of.

Sorry to hear.

Funky Bastard 01-02-2005 12:46 PM

My sister did the same thing I know how it feels let's just hope she ran off with some guy and she come's back or the police find here like my sister! Hope you find her soon.

I didn't have a 3.5 GPA, and things were a lot different back then.

Hell, everything we did back then would be considered suicide these days.

Funky Bastard 01-02-2005 12:52 PM

The hardest part of it all is their relly is nothing you can do but wait! call the police check with all her friends and drive around.

pornguy 01-02-2005 12:55 PM

Hey. What part of Cali. I am in Rosarito beach Mexico, which is just south of the border, and just south of Tijuana. We will keep a look out for her, as a lot of girls come down here to make money. Are there any better photos?
I will be out for a bit, so hitme up on ICQ.

DarkJedi 01-02-2005 12:57 PM

Damn gigi, that really sucks.

I'll put your link on my sites.

From the page Albion7 put up:

Quote:

Courtney is a missing child from Marysville, California. She was last seen at East 22nd Street and Highway 20 in Marysville, California, on Thursday, December 30, 2004. It is possible Courtney was planning to hitch-hike East on Highway 20 to the Dobbins, Susanville, or Doyle, California areas.
But, at this point, with the amount of time that has passed, she could be anywhere.

Well, that's very true....except that being online has it's advantages. ;) We all have friends all over the planet....we have friends, who know people, who know people, and so on, and so on.....the internet is a powerful media....we will use it to the fullest extent to help.

I'm in BC, and I feel pretty helpless all the way up here....but, I can do my part and post on the boards, on my sites etc to help get the word out.

Power in numbers, right?

Bump Bump

OzMan 01-02-2005 01:33 PM

Firstly, I really hope she is found safe.

BUT if the father knew she was planning to hitchhike,

OR he has not taught her that hitchhiking is more dangerous than playing on the freeway

THEN it is not correct to say that he has a good relationship with his daughter and/or she couldn't be a runaway.

Statistically, most girls that age do turn out to be runaways or willingly went with their boyfriend for a few days of fun.

Looking at the Amber Alert site, it seems that nearly all even younger children are either taken by non custodial parents or went willingly. Although this is not good at least it shows that random child abduction is thankfully a lot rarer than we think.

Albion7 didn't know she hitchhikes....he finally got it out of a friend of hers after she went missing. No teenage daughter would tell her father that she hitchhikes because they simply know Dad would not approve. Kids will do stupid things. That's all there is to it. He doesn't know if she did indeed hitchhike though. There is many forms of transportation where she resides, and that confuses him even more.

We all hope she just went on a binge and that abduction is not the case. Cross your fingers for her.
