Industry Wide Charity Auction for Tsunami Victims
 

Its been a VERY long time since this industry got together and put on a live radio / net auction of donated goods to raise money for a good cause. I would have to say that the lastest disaster in Asia is worthy of such an event!

I will help coordinate the event if I can get a radio platform to handle it.

Any help, support, or suggestions would be helpful...

I need to come up with the radio show platform and pick a date with them (obviously after the show) Then we'll round up as many donations from folks in the industry (content, advertising, bonuses, services, etc...) and we'll auction them off. I know in the past we've earned well over 1/4 million and I know we can do it again! :)

So what I need right now is the radio venue... :)

I only have a crappy live 365 station but if it can be of any use (I do live shows, etc) let me know and I am there.

Let's spread the word, folks....the death toll is rising.

I dont have anything to offer the auction, but I will be there with as much cash as possible.

Where can we submit the items available for auction?

After 9-11, the webmaster community (for anyone that wasn't around then) raised somewhere near a half million dollars for relief. It was a tremendous effort and there were some huge donations from several people, Marc De leading the list.

Great idea Marc. Epoch, Paycom and ePassporte are about to start a thread here on GFY with a fundraisng effort in addition to this. Of course, you can count on us for support for the auction costs and to be bidders as well. Thanks, from all of us, for being out front on this important issue.
