New Site - Keep it, or sell it?

Hi Guys,

we have just finished a site, that we were going to use with Deluxepass. Since I am not sure if we shall keep it and run it ourselves, or sell it (incl. the Domain movierama.net) i posted this thread.

Site looks like this:

A preview can be seen here:
http://www.bitchmedia.com/projects/movierama/

The site is fully CSS based - so a tableless fast and pure layout.

The head of the site comes with a photoshop file with about 15 images to choose from, so maybe a javascript rotator would be a good idea and could be implemented quickly!

So if anybody likes that site and can make use of it, drop me a line and we can do some business.

And just tested again, this site is 100% valid XHTML 1.1

This is not usual for most porn sites!

I like the design, but it renders a little weird in Firefox. Some text goes over images, etc.

I like it a lot, but if all the videos were the quality of that sample then you could put up a pure text header and make sales.

Good point. Thank you.

There was a small issue with a height attribut in the CSS - fixed it, so now it works on all browsers!

I've been messing with CSS and I LOVE what I see here.

I'm a sucker for green too.

Thank you candy!

CSS is really fun!!

Pornweaver 11-29-2004 11:06 AM

You're RIGHT! It IS 100% XHTML / CSS, if by which you mean, it's 90% graphics!

Congrats!

Sosa 11-29-2004 11:31 AM

not too shabby :thumbsup

Olix 11-29-2004 11:38 AM

Is using only css really faster?

well, it is a little faster loading, since the HTML code of the site is very short.

and it is more compliant to web standards. since the Firefox revolution is talking place, it is good to be with the standards.

and - this is more important for the adult webmaster - adjust the site layout can be done by changing the CSS file only.

So if you every feel like a different color than green, you are done in a couple of seconds. For all your documents.

moneymaker_ro 11-29-2004 12:31 PM

Green is not the best collor for your site .

Congrats!

i think you are referring to the video preview area. this is the only big graphic i am using.

the reason for that is, that i discovered, that I am way faster in editing a graphic in photoshop, than in HTML.

So i crop my little videoshots into PSD, combine them into a graphic file, edit two lines of text - and ready.

And it wontībe heavier than having it in a bunch of small thumbs put together in HTML tables etc.

But that can be changed at ease :-)

not sure, will go for the highest bid - at least something above $900 including the domain name.

Hmm... am I the only one seeing the big white slice/gap running the width of her picture? It's about an inch wide and cuts right across the tip of her nose and above her ear lobe.

that is not a bug - thatīs a feature.

but honestly, i think this white slice makes sense in a graphical way. it is in parallel to the backrgound slicing and gives the header a little more impact - especially because a small shadow of the green area is on top of it.

i think that is more obviuos in this version:

CyberSan 11-29-2004 12:53 PM

anyway, it is gettig late over in europe now.

i will check in tomorrow morning, if anybody is interested, drop me a mail or leave a comment, i will come back to you asap.

Okay, cool. I see what you're saying. I thought maybe it was just my browser, or something.

progex 11-29-2004 01:01 PM

The design looks like it was ripped of a blog.

but since your concern is a point anyway, i just made a version with only a 1px white line...

not sure, what I like better
