Perhaps you are looking at it from the wrong perspective. It is all marketing really. The dynamics inherent in particular nicks' ability to draw attention is a reflection both of their branding and their persona.

Look how it works with things like Paris Hilton video or Britney Spears and Cola, using a name to increase views/credibility is an established method in marketing.

Exactly what part of Gene's marketing isn't "real" by your definition? I think one of the great things that sets Gene apart from all the traditional marketing you see discussed on these boards is how he thinks in a completely seperate dimension than most of the sheep in this biz.

Gene is most certainly not a sheep, and if you listen to him, and actually check out his traffic blog, you might see that he has very valuable advice to contribute.

Firstly there are sets of girls I got published in Barely Legal, Tight, Club and Mayfair in that set which is a dam site harder than selling content on the Internet and do you expect me to put my 20 best sets into a selection for $25 :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

Every promo we do is of different sets, we reach a certain sales number and kill it, then start a new one. So hopefully the content is not totally over exposed. But at a dollar 25 cents no one should complain. It should perform well enough to justify the massive investment.

So far you haven't handed out anything except for negativity. Gene does something constructive, you do something destructive. They both have their benefits, but I think you're waning on the side of being a sig-whore with only accusing, not offering an explanation.

Do you really think... deep down, Fake Nick... that our marketing tactics are something the surfer likes? Do you think they like spam, pop-up consoles, ads on TV, ads in magazines? Doubtful.

And if you're in this business, I think you have to set aside that surfer in you and realize there's more to this business than giving away free porn. There's a side we like to call "making money".

there is REALLY NOTHING positive about anything that gene does except maybe for new webmasters they love it , they are under the impression he is handing out "inside info" when in fact all he is handing out is cheap useless advice that destroys this biz as a whole
