What is the average i.q. at GFY
Hmmmm
|
I've taken several IQ tests over the years, everything from comprehensive to basic, and always score in the 135-146 range.
but I'd say the average IQ here is in the lower ranges. There are some pretty smart people here though, but they are horrendously out-numbered. |

Maybe 119 actually shit I can't remember. |

100 is average, so why is 100 - 150 listed as "Philosopher and scientist level shit"?
|
"100 - 150 Philosopher and scientist level shit "
100 = Philosopher and scientist level shit? mmmk lol |

I added a curve |
I never finished High School....... went to get my G.E.D when I was 8 1/2 months pregnant and made insanely high scores in half the time everyone else that was taking it made.... and I had been out of High School for more than 10 years. LOL
I have been tested in about every IQ test I can think of many times and it is always around 140-146.... BUT I would have to say that while alot of the ones here like to THINK some of these people suffer from low IQs, I would venture to say most all of them have a much higher IQ than one would think. Not in the highest category, but pretty high up there. :winkwink: |
My IQ is 135. I would suspect most of the posters on GFY are in the 115-150 range.
|
Mine = 125
|
I took one once as part of college prep testing and scored a 149.
|
If you read some of the useless shit people post you'd think it would be pretty low.
|
The last time I was test it was around 140.
|
i took one a few months ago and i scored 153 or 156, something like that... there was a JBM thread about this subject and lots of poster's results are in it
|
offtopic but I found this interesting.
The study determined the following IQs of each president as accurate to within five percentage points. In order by presidential term: 142 - Franklin Delano Roosevelt 132 - Harry S Truman 122 - Dwight David Eisenhower 174 - John Fitzgerald Kennedy 126 - Lyndon Baines Johnson 155 - Richard Milhous Nixon 121 - Gerald R. Ford 175 - James Earle Carter 105 - Ronald Wilson Reagan 098 - George Herbert Walker Bush 182 - William Jefferson Clinton 091 - George Walker Bush In IQ order: 182 - William Jefferson Clinton 175 - James Earle Carter 174 - John Fitzgerald Kennedy 155 - Richard Milhous Nixon 147 - Franklin Delano Roosevelt 132 - Harry S Truman 126 - Lyndon Baines Johnson 122 - Dwight David Eisenhower 121 - Gerald R. Ford 105 - Ronald Wilson Reagan 098 - George Herbert Walker Bush 091 - George Walker Bush The six Republican presidents of the past 50 years had an average IQ of 115.5, with President Nixon having the highest at 155. President George W. Bush rated the lowest of all the Republicans with an IQ of 91. |
most GFY people (the ones that post enough) have great insight and must have a high IQ

Chaze pretty cool thread :thumbsup

According to statements in the report, there have been twelve presidents over the past 50 years, from F. D. Roosevelt to G. W. Bush who were all rated based on scholarly achievements, writings that they alone produced without aid of staff, their ability to speak with clarity, and several other psychological factors which were then scored in the Swanson/Crain system of intelligence ranking. Among comments made concerning the specific testing of President GW Bush, his low ratings were due to his apparent difficulty to command the English language in public statements, his limited use of vocabulary (6,500 words for Bush versus an average of 11,000 words for other presidents), his lack of scholarly achievements other than a basic MBA, and an absence of any body of work which could be studied on an intellectual basis. The complete report documents the methods and procedures used to arrive at these ratings, including depth of sentence structure and voice stress confidence analysis. |

i thought they were pure and true IQ scores |
there's far more to intelligence than what a mere iq test can measure

I can't believe how smart the people are here, I have a new perspective on all the gibberish that floats around :thumbsup That republican thing is funny too, I hate to say it but I totally believe it. Sometimes it's hard to be a republican. I wonder Arnies I.Q.? |
I think median IQ would be a more accurate result for this :-P ... theres a lot of smart people on here but theres a lot more "lets buy a tgp script and make $10,000 a month on 1K of traffic" idiots
|
i thought it was in the -50/100 zone :1orglaugh
|
my IQ tests average out to about 145.
|
I've never taken an IQ test
|
IQ tests I've done have given me a number of different results between 144 and 172. Unfortunately, the whole concept of a measurable "intelligence quotient" is laughable.
IQ tests measure a person's ability to quickly solve relatively simple mathematical problems (even the linquistic parts of iq tests are in fact mathematical problems rather than linguistic problems, unless they are so strongly culturally biased that they shouldn't be taken seriously in the first place) in a completely rational way. Meaningful intelligence, on the other hand, consists of the ability to solve extremely complex problems in large amounts of time, often using intuitive insight rather than rationality as a starting point. What IQ tests measure is much like the processor on a computer. Important, and problematic when it's lacking, but simply not the only thing that counts. I for one would strongly prefer a computer with a 2.4 Ghz processor, 2 gigs of ram, two 160 gig sata harddisks and win XP over a computer with a 3.6 Ghz processor, 256 mb ram, a single 10 gig 5400 rpm ide harddisk and win 98 :winkwink: Having said that, the IQs being posted here are ofcourse utterly ridiculous. The mean IQ is by definition 100 with a standard deviation of 15, and the average university student has an IQ of about 115. About 1 in 100 people have an IQ of over 135, and rarity increases exponentially as the results get further from 100. To be blunt, I simply don't believe GFY is one of the most intelligent communities on the face of the earth. Oh, by the way, the "presidential IQ" thing is a hoax: http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/hoaxes/presiq.htm |

I didn't finish grammar school and I still score higher then that. Your IQ level is basicly a measurement of your brains capacity rather then your knowledge bank. |
LOL @ all the people with 135+, do you actually believe yourselves? Online tests have zero value.

Do they still use IQ scores? I thought all the more recent tests issue values based on percentile. Unless you count those crappy online ones.
No, I won't post mine. Posting your IQ online is more or less equivalent to posting your dick size online: unverifiable and pointless. A simple blanket statement covers both topics: It's big enough! |

Finding patterns, problem solving and that shit would be the most common. But there are also emotional IQ er whatever they choose to call it in English ... not that I've read up on the subject, but those tests are more about figuring out situations, reactions, consequenes. I've done those as well and it's a whole other thing then ordinary IQ tests. Somebody please correct me tho cause I know way too little about the different types of IQ's to really be speaking about it. (Once again I just love to hear myself talk haha) |
got 140
|
When I was 15 I was in coundeling and I asked if I could take one because I was getting bored during our sessions, and the coundelor said fine. I scored 142.
