Would you vote for Schwarzenegger for president in 2009?

kane 10-07-2004 10:35 AM

It'll never happen, nor should it. :2 cents:

Kimmykim 10-07-2004 05:47 PM

He makes a great actor playing the governor, just like Reagan made a great actor playing the president.

Don't you people watch Ali G?

did you guys hear his speech at teh republican convention? It was a joke. he didnt say anything, it was all a bunch of hoopla. I dont live in cali, so I dont know what his campaign was like while running there, but if it was the same crap, then its just sad a politician can be so vague. It certainly didnt say alot about the people who were cheering him on at the convention.

Drake 10-07-2004 06:15 PM

No I wouldn't vote for him and I hope they don't make an amendment to allow people born from other countries to be able to become US President. That would be ridiculous.

I dont think terminator could fuck up worse than Bush..

Just think of the situation, I believe it was in Brazil. They voted in a Japanese man born from Japan of all people, to be their President. The guy was involved in all types of fraud, made millions in office, and ran off with all the loot.

Guess where he's gone into hiding? JAPAN

Not a good idea to have people from other countries having the #1 post in your country. LOL

CDSmith 10-07-2004 06:41 PM

Arnie for president, yeah baby YEAH!!!!

Ventura as his VP!!! YEAH!!!!

Wooo hooo! I'm moving to the US!

Arnie's been a loyal full-fledged US citizen since the early 70's. Other than his birthplace being outside the country he's as much an American as any of you.

No...it was in Peru. Alberto Fujimori, his parents are Japanese, but he was born in Peru.
So it didn't happen there, nor will it happen here!:winkwink:

Yes but the problem is that you'd have to start legislating at what age people from other countries should and should not be able to become US President.

To cut all that out, keeping it as it is now is best. Nobody born elsewhere can be your President. It should be like that in most countries and I'm certain it is.

Drake 10-07-2004 06:53 PM

I'm also not saying he wouldn't make a good President or somebody from outside couldn't make a good US President. I'm just saying it's probably in a nations best interest to only permit it's own citizens born on it's soil to hold that position.

CDSmith 10-07-2004 06:56 PM

If his career goes in that direction, I predict they will make some sort of ammendment so he can do so.

That's what I predict.

The guy has serious ties, family ties, connections, friends, and a hell of a lot of people backing him who want to see him succeed.

It could happen. If you think otherwise, you're deluding yourself.

I could be wrong, but I completely disagree. I don't think it would happen and I would be willing to wager with you on it:winkwink:

not hard enough . . . . this could pass

Mike Okitch 10-07-2004 07:01 PM

Why the fuck not? Change those rules about having to be born in the US to be president already!

A president should be elected based on his skills and not his place of birth.

No wager, it's just my opinion. Disagree with it all you want, but I don't see why you or anyone would want to, because let's face it... it fucking well COULD happen and you know it.

Or haven't you been paying attention to all the crazy things that have happened in the world in the recent past that everyone "thought would never happen"?.... :1orglaugh

For the sake of naked national pride. It's a smack in the face to every citizen born and raised in their own country to be ruled by somebody from another country. Governor is one thing, but Presidency is a whole other matter.

I just don't see it happening. Like I said, I could be wrong, but I don't think Americans would tolerate it. At least not at this point in time.

Osama Bin Laden seems to have amazing leadership skills. Maybe we should elect him or somebody like him.
