HELP! What's more important a webmaster show or a trip with your loved one? :
 

Well my bosses just asked me if I was interested in atteneding the webmaster show in Santa Monica November 18th-20th. Well I didnt respond for I had to look into it. I was in Maimi for Internext and in Mexico for the Ynot show the past two months and was kinda getting burned out on shows . With Vegas around the corner I thought this I could skip with out that much loss.

I told my girlfriend and she snapped. Well she was more dissapointed than anything.
She addimmited to getting revervations,concert tickets, and a bunch of other goddies for us that same weekend as a secret gift.

She said they are all easlily cancelled and refunable and we could do it anuther weekend.

Im so confused on what to do right now.

I have been to alot of webmaster shows and Im personnally torn on what to do.

What would you do?:helpme

Your job pays the bills, does she and will she untill you are retirement age?

Work first, play later when your work has alloted you the time to play.

It is a question of how much money and future prosperity attending the show will get you. If she wishes to work with you on being together and sharing funds then this is something she needs to understand.

Of course you go to the convention I mean it's the most important thing in the world and you'll gain so much from it.

Na, skip the show ... how many new people are you going to see there? How much new business will you actually gain that you didn't get in Mexico that you won't see in Vegas? I think you stay in Toronto and make the little lady happy.

They gave you an option, they could go if they wanted to go. We never force anyone to go to show's. I say go with the girly, I have been to WA Santa Monica and it was a great time, however, you will be in Vegas and you will see the EXACT same people there. You won't miss out on much besides me rocking hardcore to Guns and Roses at the Rainbow Room ;))) Go with the g/f if it's not gonna freak your bosses out. I know them and I know that they'd be cool with it.

Yeah... you've been to tons of shows, and had some awesome parties... will it really be the end of the world if you miss one?

Be with the girl... I'm guessing trips with her are not even close to being as common as a webmaster show.

If you're afraid you are going to miss something such as a party then perhaps you should be re-thinking this whole gf thing to begin with. I can do damage to my liver anywhere, it's had no boundaries LOL I can assure you, if you choose this over your gf who has made all these plans, chances are you'll be single the minute you tell her. Find a girl who WANTS you to go on these trips and wants to HEAR all the naughty shit you get into, and with WHOM you get into it with. If she wants to see the PICTURES of you and Raimi....THEN she's a keeper. Not until.

Both - Bring you g/f to the show. I bring my wife to shows. It greatly increases my odds of getting laid during shows.

Think of it this way, either you could hang out with a bunch of guys and girls that you'll never get to touch OR you could go out on a trip with your woman, see a concert, then take her back to your motel room and fuck the hell outta here.

PLUS if you choose her over the webmaster show, it'll show her that you really care about her and you'll get more fucking out of the deal. If you piss her off, you might have to go a couple of weeks without it.

fuck the show, they are a dime a dozen now....there are tons more to go to every other month

stay with the girlfriend. i think the show in santa monica will be decent, but vegas is only 90 days(to be exact).

make her feel all warm and fuzzy and stay with her, and save soem money ;)

Looks like your delema is about being ready for a committed relationship.

Take your girl to the show, then stay a few extra days and party in La and San Diego

go with the girly. I gave up Vegas a couple years ago and decided to take the family on a snowboarding trip instead..none of us knew how to snowboard...was the best thing I could have ever done!

Derek you have to go with your heart on this one. I am in the same mental possition with the shows, in that I am getting a bit burnt out since Mexico. I have made the choice of not going to the Santa Monica show and instead taking some time off of the party/networking scene.
You are well known and well liked so you will be missed, but not forgotten. As long as you don't miss two shows in a row than I think you are safe in NOT loosing any business.:thumbsup

For her to have gone through all the trouble of planning a secret trip you should really not turn that down.

After all we can make all the moeny in the world, but think what a lonely life it would be without s0meone to enjoy it with.

I want everyone to answer this question in their heads, be honest with yourself, you do not even need to answer this.

1) How many people do you know who have a million in disposable income?
2) How many of you who do know someone who has that much ever get to hang out with them and/or see how their life really is
3) Did that person make the money through hard work or did they just get it handed to them?

Here is something for you who can not say yes to any of those to think about and what those of you who did answer yes may already have learned.

Don't you find it interesting that all the stories about rich people being so miserable with their lives are usually in some feel good movie or some story simular to "The ant and the grasshopper"? Perhaps these stories are set up to make you feel better and most of all complacent in your lives, to give you comfort. "oh yeah he has a bunch of money but he is miserable and alone". Was this set up in society to make you sit in your position in the midst of the status quo and limit your drive to knock off the guys at the top? To make you sit there and work to make another man money. Keep believing that a life of hard work that results in large sums of money is empty and sad, leaders of companies need people who think like this to make them rich.

What is a life? Getting drunk and yelling at the television with your buddies as grown men play a game? Getting high? Going to the club and forcing your way though a mass of people, having smoke blown on you and drinks spilled on you? Bragging about how many chics you banged? Or is it retiring at 35 because of your hard work, being able to live a life of comfort then instead of ending work when you are half dead at 50? If I got hit by a car tomorrow at 23 with the amount of work I done, the accomplishments I have made and having sacrificed all that earlier stuff I would have no regrets at all. I work my ass off for most of the week yet I have friends, I have people who love me, I have my family, I have financial security that grows everyday, I have my companies and I have my health.

Yeah like I said it depends on how much you thing going to the show will accomplish as far as achieving your goals and also how deserving your lady is of your time.

If the show benefits your work/career do that, esp. since you can reschedule the other trip - and esp. since she's ok with it. :2 cents:

your job comes first, tell the GF to work around your schedule...

Why cant it be both together?

Take the loved one on the trip.. attend the gathering and stay a few extra days for just you and the loved one to spend some time
