I told the guy once:
Do like Enron and Ken Lay : fuck the people , but pay your taxes and give political contributions. You will not serve a day. Idiot didn't listen exactly. take care of the right people and they will take care of you. someone filed acompliant to get this thing started, and that is where it could have been stopped if things were done right. some peeps just don't learn. |

Coil's sentencing concludes a case that began in the mid-1990s when Austin police detectives noticed what federal prosecutors have described as "financial irregularities" in Coil's business operations. They passed the case to federal agents, whose investigation culminated in a 32-count indictment against Coil and six others last year.
the mid 1990's was bill clinton and janet reno Rotfl :1orglaugh pay your taxes |
Amazing how your right wing porn supplier don't get it.
Between 1990 and 2000, nothing happened. Case was shelved, tossed around, not important. A deal was in the works involving the payment of taxes owed, a fine for late filing and a penalty for tax evasion. Just like in most similar cases not involving porn.... But the arm of God is now represented in this administration, and now they close a full fledged business, put working people on the street, pay to jail people that didn't need to be supported by the state, and I could go on ... You think this is a coincidence. After 10 years, it just happens NOW... I again repeat: I HOPE THAT YOUR SORRY ASSES ALL GET KICKED LIKE THIS, BECAUSE THEY WILL FIND SOMETHING IN YOUR BOOKS THAT IS NOT KOSHER... ( Paypal payment, usage of Epassport credit card for personnal use and the easiest: 2257 ). On the other hand, I will get much more business once you open gayjailsex.com .... |
directfiesta, what I don't get is why you care. If the sky is truly falling as you like to constantly suggest, I would think you would want Bush in office as it would surely increase revenues for you
|
The guy was selling porn and dodging his taxes, not clever in a country like the US. If he was doing it in a free and open country, that recognises freedom of speech and expression and an adults right to view what they want to he would of got away with it.
Living in the States you need to be very careful what you do. Anyway four more years and us European pornographers can fill in the gaps Ashcro ft creates. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh *Turn off sarcasm* |

"Today is a good day because a long-time merchant of hardcore, triple-X rated, sadistic pornography is on his way to federal prison," U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton said.
That was said to show the christian base they are doing something. The case actually had nothing to do with porn, he fucked around on his taxes the idiot. |

Sent him up the river to the big house. :ak47: |

That is fucked up.
I pay every dime of my taxes. That's one thing I don't want to be looking over my shoulder on. |

Like I said if you sell porn in a the US you have to watch your back. This guy screwed up. If he had lived here he would not iof had a problem. But then we have real freedom of speeech here, not just freedom to say what is acceptable. *Edit in insult* You are obviously not bright enough to understand what I meant. |

He would of been prosecuted anywhere and in any business for dodging taxes. But was his sentence in line with what other taxes dodgers recieved? Was the investigation and prosecution related more to what he sold than to the tax crime? |

Can't see how you know, as the article does not go into a lot of detail about the tax evasion. |

That's how they got Capone. They can always get ya if you cheat on your taxes. Not worth a few bucks, or even few thousand bucks, to do time for that. |
Just to name a few...
In Sacramento, California, Lonnie D. Crockett was sentenced to 42 months in prison followed by 36 months probation and ordered to pay a fine of $67,500. Crockett pled guilty to defrauding the IRS in a nationwide tax evasion conspiracy that involved the concealment of income through a chain of domestic and foreign bank accounts and trust arrangements. Three doctors from northern California also pled guilty in connection with the scheme. Daniel Bullock, an orthopedic surgeon, Richard D. Pfeiffer, an orthodontist, and Richard Shearer, an ear, nose and throat specialist, were sentenced to prison for 18 months, 27 months and 24 months, respectively, and ordered to pay fines and back taxes. In Greenville, North Carolina, Charles James Payton was sentenced to serve 78 months in prison followed by 3 years supervised release. In addition, Payton was ordered to pay restitution to the IRS in the amount of $87,073. Charles Payton was convicted on of seven counts of willfully aiding and assisting in the preparation of false income tax returns and one count of conspiracy. In Reno, Nevada, Palle "Pono" Bognaes was sentenced to serve 80 months in prison and 3 years supervised release, and to pay $29,598 in restitution to the IRS for conspiring to defraud the United States, evading more than $2 million in federal taxes, and obstructing and impeding the IRS in the collection of those taxes. He also was ordered to pay $107,752 in restitution to a client from whom he took unauthorized withdrawals and to pay $4,861 for costs of his prosecution. |
Thanks GiantGnome. Now all we have to do is find out what this guy actually swindled and we have a bench mark to work with.
Baddog, see what a guy with the right skills does. He resorts to finding out, not just name calling. |

Shouldn't the real issue be that someone got punished by the law for selling hardcore pornography? Obscenity laws are scary. :2 cents:
