CYPRESS HILL - Performing @ The Players Ball? details
The hunt for the headliner is on. Great discussions with a few big artists camps right now. I'm pretty sure I can lock in Cypress Hill within the next week if we want it.
I know there were lot's of people saying if it's Cypress, they'd be either a main sponsor or smaller sponsor for sure. I'll need to throw a deposit down to lock it in. If anyone wants to lock in the only main sponsorship or 1 of 3 main sponsorships, email me quickly. darren at marketingfirm .com Ludacris is also in the running & 213. I have a feeling I can secure Cypress at a good price right now. More webmasters have requested Cypress Hill over any other artist so far. I'll still mix in a few others that night. We're looking to have a nice diversified group of artists. Trying for Paul Oakenfold and a rock cover band as well. And Digital Underground with a live band behind them, maybe even DJ QBert. The venue will be VIP like last years, we might just go back to it again. So who here would at least love to see Cypress? I think it's the best choice for the dollar right now. |
Oh my fucking god I love Cypress Hill. Can anyone record it for me? I'll pay :1orglaugh
|
Cypress Hill rock! If they come to Montreal I'll go see them for sure!
|
CKY! PLEASE!
Camp Kill Yourself! PLEASE! Goddam they'd rock for Vegas |
Yeah Cypress Hill rock..
|
AC/DC, Boston, or even Poison will work :)
|
Cypress Luda Too Short and couple other smaller artists could be really cool :P
|
i personally am not that big into cypress....now if there was a band that rapped about doing cocaine all day long, i would want to see them...but since I don't smoke weed it doesn't have the same effect on me
ludacris is still my #1 choice....and of course q-bert...q-bert would make me jizz my pants, you would not be able to pry me away from in front of the turntables watching him |

Who's gonna step their game up and lock this in? Good price for a main sponsorship, one of the lowest prices in years. |

If I get Ludacris, it would have to be throught Too Short as a favor and high recommendation, at a Famous Player discounted rate. Membership has it's priviledges. |
yes cypress hill is an excellent choice

No promises yet, still need confirmation on some main sponsors willing to step it up and then I can lock it in. I'm sure we can secure sponsors fast if I can guarantee Cypress Hill. YTC will be featured as the Adult Internet rapper at some point during the evening. If we can be so honored. |

I've seen em twice though, great band! |
Id go see that.
Cypress Hills have egos the size of a trailer park tough |
D, that would be awesome!!!! I will surely be at that Player's Ball!
|
The venue will be only 2000 people.
If you get a pass, it will be from a sponsor or you will become a sponsor for a small price. Gotta give the tickets to the sponsors, then sponsorships have true value. |

don't waste your time on paul oakenfold darren, your crowd will hate him. and if you do get him, don't fall for that 30,000 dollar thing that his agent will throw at you, i know by FACT that he will do something like this for 10G. he will bore the death out of your crowd. he's oversaturated and played outin club land.
i would recommend mix master mike or dj scribble from mtv. they are both a good show and will play stuff that your crowd will know. and they are cheaper. |

Force PD into a main sponsorship and quit fuckin' around with the other idea he had. jk |
I would go see Cypress Hill and although Digital Underground has been good to you D-Money I think they are played out. You can only see them so many times before people start to puke. Getting CH and a couple other guys would be a good show I think, stay away from Digital Underground this year :)

I agree with you, it depends on if a main sponsor says if we get him they're securing a sponsorship. Airek, hit me up in my email in this thread, I want your digits, get caught up. I'm hearing rave reviews on what you're doing these days. Major props. |
Sawed off shotgun, hand on the pump, left hand on a 40, puffin on a blunt!!!
cypress hill and digital underground would rule |

I hear what you're saying. Here's my take. Everytime we had them perform, they were the crowd favorite. I thought after the first 2 times it would be played out as well. BUT, the crowd knows their music and when they perform Freaks Of The Industry, every hottie dances sexy on stage. The last time they performed, I asked them to do a REMIX set. They did. It was cool hearing 50 Cents new beats to old D.U. classics. So I would keep it fresh again by having a live band funking it up behind them. It's a new thing they're doing, and it's really hot. If they didn't have a live band behind them, I'd agree that it's just about played out for our crowd. Shock G also has a new solo project about to be released, rave reviews by the rap industry. LL Cool J is a big fan, all of them will support this new project of theirs. And they're good friends, I like to see friends shine. For those that love Too Short, he's Players Ball 4 Life, so having a tune or so by him will be an extra. |

Cool man, nice to see you are on a great start.
You do a great job on these parties and definetly dominate the show. |
Those guys are great to party with. Had some fun with them at the Rainbow room during the Santa Monica Webmaster Access:thumbsup
And speaking of the Rainbow Room and a cover rock band, how about a good ol' fashion Guns n Roses cover band? ;) I'll sponsor that fo sho! |
