Bush: America is "absolutely" better off today than it was four years ago
I really think Bush is starting to lose it.
http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/...lkl/index.html LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- President Bush said Thursday that America is "absolutely" better off today than it was four years ago -- on both the national security and domestic fronts. "The world's safer. ... Libya's no longer a threat. Pakistan is an ally in the war on terror," Bush said in an exclusive interview on CNN's "Larry King Live." Bush goes on to say..... "We thought we'd find stockpiles. The whole world thought we'd find stockpiles. ... But what we do know is Saddam Hussein had the capability of making weapons of mass destruction, and after September 11th, a risk we could not take was that he would share that capability with our enemies." Fucking amazing. |
Bush, during his 4 years created more hate towards Americans and America than ever before. And hate just fuels up the terrorists for more attacks.

Combine that with international unease about commiting foreign investment dollars to the US and parking it in Canada instead... well, the future's pretty rosy. There's a reason why we've had the #1 growth rate of the G8 for 4 years running. The only downside we've had is that the rapid devaluation of your dollar has lead to some uncomfortable moments for anyone bringing in USD. I mean, it sucks that he's destroying whatever ideal you guys had for liberty and justice and all while he's on his personal jihad, but what you gonna do? ... and I believe that HIS america is better than it was 4 years ago. Perhaps you're just not good enough to live in HIS america. I mean, you're in that top 10%, >180k/year column, aren't you? :2 cents: |

For a while there it was under 20c. I pay 18.1% combined federal/provincial tax and I'm thinking to myself "As soon as the conversion doesn't cover the tax, I'm taking a trip to europe to scare up some biz... gotta hedge that income".:thumbsup |

Personally, I liked the part, when asked if he would condemn the anti-Kerry ad attacking Kerry's miltary record, his response was..... I haven't seen it.
His wife said the same thing. Unfucking believable how they could both sit there and lie straight into the camera. 80 days left, and then we take our country back. |

I tend to stay out of political threads, but I feel a need to vent.
I grew up in the '80s. I know a lot of the "kids today" see the '80s as a shallow time. Fact is, for those of us who were paying attention, is was a terrifying time. All that shallow dance music and pretentious alt-rock grew out of the absolute certainty that we were all going to be nuked off the face of the earth, courtesy of the Republican party. The attitude was, "We're gonna die - might as well dance." I don't know if I was one iota safer with Bill Clinton in office. I doubt it. But you know what? I felt good about my country. I felt good about my president. I felt that my government more or less represented the ideals I believe in. Am I shallow? No more than anyone else in this country. None of us can know the actual reality of our situation. Perception is key. Right now I feel pessimistic on levels I never fathomed. I despise G. W. Bush and his administration. Is Kerry any better? I don't know; but I am pretty sure he's no worse. And if he can raise morale, then he's better, at least in the short term. America is so filled with self-loathing right now, we're on the verge of imploding. And that breaks my heart. Because I do love my country, but right now I feel like a stupid slut defending an abusive boyfriend. "No, really, he's not usually like that!" The typical response is, "Love it or leave it." I'm considering leaving it. And I never, ever thought I would say that. |

The money is only a small part of it. Yes, 4 years ago I was pulling in over 500k a year, now its about half that, which is fine with me. The biggest issue is unlike the conservatives I actually care about the future of the country/world. On a personal level I see the people around me barely making it, losing their jobs and their homes. These same people were turning down jobs left and right 4 years ago. Its exactly the same situation that was happening during the 80's with Reagan and Bush Sr. Economies always experience ups and downs so that can be expected. There is a much bigger problem today compared to the 80's though. The hate being produced by the right is being embraced by half the country and becoming more and more acceptable. It blows my mind that there are millions of people in America that have no problem with a president that fabricates information in order to invade a country. It also shocks me that this administration has continually manipulated people using fear and lies in order to push its agenda. People on the right know that they are doing this and have no problem with it. I am certain this admin will do anything to stay in power, whether it be manipulate election results or create more fear. Its no different than what Hitler did to gain power and control of Germany. I am certain Bush will remain in power. What I see happening is either a terrorist attack days before the election or the threat of a terrorist attack on the day of the election. If people are afraid to go out and vote Bush will win. It is a fact that on high voter turnouts dems usually win. It wouldnt surprise me at all if this happens to see a civil war in this country between the left and the right. |

Bush has failed to get the nod of the US people after a Senate committe released its investigation that US intelligence has failed to proved that there was indeed WMD in Iraq. Bush will certainly go down the wire for this stupid decision to go into war. picture below is composed of US KIA in Iraq alone. http://www.adultoutsourcing.com/gfy/bush/bush-small.jpg |

It was literally unbelievable to me also that neither he or his wife had seen the anti-kerry ad in question. His talk about embryonic stem cell research was totally lame as well. He failed to mention (and Larry failed to mention) that so many embryo's are already wasted at infertility clinics. If he's so concerned that it's "life", why doesnt he demand those cells be implanted or something? doh.. And WHERE are the news reporters asking him about Goss being appointed CIA director when Goss himself said he was unqualified?? That should be a HUGE story... blah blah blah. Thats all I think when I hear him talk anymore. |

I'm so pessimistic about this election though. Even if the votes side toward Kerry 55/45, somehow I see some form of corruption that will lead to bush's victory.
